Xiaonanyue provincial scenic spot is located in the southern suburb of Huoshan County. It has more than 2000 species of animals and plants. It is said that in 122 B.C., Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty visited the mountain and granted it the title of "vice Heng".

Introduction

On the top of the mountain, there is Nanyue Temple (commonly known as Nanyue Temple) built in Han Dynasty. Now the title is inscribed by Zhao Puchu. The stone inscription "Han Emperor's imperial edict seal" is kept in the west gate building. The East Gate building is built in Ming Dynasty. The title "Xiao Nanyue" in the front gate is Yu Youren's handwriting. There are front hall, back hall, three palaces and Guanyin hall in the temple. The main scenic spots are Nanyue Tianchi, Shixin cliff, flagpole clip, zuoci cave, Pearl Lake, Dafeng cave, Xiaofeng cave, jiuya ancient maple and martyrs' cemetery. Nanyue Mountain, known as "famous mountain in West Anhui", is located 2.5 kilometers south of Huoshan County, with an altitude of 405 meters. Yueding covers an area of about 1815 square meters. It is said that the name of the mountain was granted by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty when he ascended the mountain. Today, there are four big characters of "Han Emperor Le Feng" in the west gate of the temple.. The mountain is about 2000 meters long from north to South and 3000 meters long from east to west. Nanyue Mountain is surrounded by many mountains, with one peak protruding, like living in the sky, so it is also known as Tianzhu Mountain. There are 16 small tile temples of brick and wood structure, which were rebuilt in 1937. The main hall is a plaque of "little Nanyue" inscribed by the famous calligrapher Gan Xinyi of the Kuomintang. There is a pool beside the feed. The water in the pool is very clear. It is commonly known as "Nanyue Tianchi" and used to be the first of the "eight sceneries of Huoshan". It is said that there is a spring under the pool, which is connected with the East China Sea. A dragon lies in the pool and then disappears. There was an ancient poem that said, "the water at the top of Nanyue Mountain meets the sky, and the lotus is inserted upside down to soak the lotus. I don't know that after being granted the title by Han Wu, it can moisten a few mu of farmland in front of the mountain.". There are two wind tunnels, big and small, on the South Cliff of the mountain. They can climb up to the entrance of the cave with the help of the stone. The big cave can accommodate thousands of people sitting and lying in it. The small cave is narrow outside and wide inside, and the middle one is like a curved room with multiple rooms. It can be used for several times.

Above the northwest of the cave, there are many strange rocks, such as flagpole clip, white tiger rock, test core rock and so on. Among them, the core rock stretches out about three meters and faces the abyss, which is very dangerous. It is said that those with evil thoughts are afraid to come. There is a poetry day: "the wind tunnel is full of clouds and valleys, the sincere rock is still full of color, the pines are green and the hills are brown, the weeds are barren and the hills are muddy.". There is a cave in Jiagu in the north of the mountain, which is called "Shichuang cave" in the old time. It is said that Zuo Yuanfang lived here in seclusion at the end of Han Dynasty. There is a deep pool beside the cave, named rilongshu. As the ancient poem says, "Fengchan still exists. It's the title of linyue. The mountain in front of it is a powerful ladder. When the Dragon went to the pool, the wind was high and the ancient cave was full of mystery. Suddenly, he suspected that Zuo Yuanfang was still in the middle building. It vividly depicts the natural scenery and cultural landscape of Nanyue Mountain. On the east slope of the mountain, there are a hundred steps, which are ascended to the peak. There are endless mountains in the East, South and West. Looking north, you can see clear water flowing east like green. You can have a panoramic view of the ancient city and new town of Huoshan. It's refreshing to be on the scene, to listen to the mountain spring Ding Dong, and to look at the West scenery.

According to the "interpretation of mountains" in Erya, the earliest monograph explaining the meaning of words in China, "Dashan palace, Xiaoshan, Huo." "Huoshan is the south mountain." The first sentence means: mountains surround hills, called Huo. Most of the later historical books interpret Huoshan according to Erya. Moreover, it is universally acknowledged that Huoshan is located in the west of Anhui Province, except for Huoshan, a mountain near Huozhou, Shanxi Province. Most of the modern authoritative dictionaries use the above two notes when explaining "Huoshan". Therefore, Nanyue Mountain is also called Huoshan. But now Huoshan is not Guiyue mountain or other mountains, but Huoshan County in the administrative region.

The famous historical geographer Gu Zuyu at the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty has such a record about Huoshan in Volume 26 of the summary of history reading Fang Yu: "Huoshan, nanwuli County, originally known as Tianzhu Mountain, also known as Nanyue Mountain, also known as Hengshan Mountain. Emperor Wen divided Huainan into Hengshan Kingdom, which was also named after this mountain In dongtianji, the Yellow Emperor granted the five mountains, and Hengshan Mountain, the south mountain, was the farthest, with Qianyue as its deputy. Shun went on a hunting expedition to the south mountain, Huoshan. In the Han Dynasty, Huo mountain was regarded as the south mountain, so the gods were sacrificed here. " Therefore, Nanyue Mountain is also known as Hengshan. According to folklore, Nanyue Mountain looks like "Heng" from the county seat, which may be reasonable.

In 1987, with the approval of the provincial government, "xiaonanyue scenic spot" was officially established and listed as the first batch of provincial scenic spots in the province; in 1993, with the approval of the provincial forestry department, "xiaonanyue Forest Park" was established and determined as a provincial forest park. "Xiaonanyue scenic spot" covers an area of 4.5 square kilometers along caojiachong in the East, maolingjiao in the south, shanhewa in the West and martyrs' cemetery in the north. You can enter the scenic area from Zhongxing Road, the main road of the county, to the South and then along Chuanxian Road, or from Hengshan Road to the West and then along asphalt road. In the scenic area, there is a spacious asphalt road running through the north and south. Cars and vans can go directly to the mountains on the East and south sides of Nanyue Mountain. From the mountain road with small slope to the east of Nanyue Mountain, or from the newly paved stone steps to the south, you can reach the top of the mountain. The name of Nanyue

Why is Nanyue Mountain called "little Nanyue"? This is because the word "xiaonanyue" was written by Yu Youren, the then president of the national government's supervisory yuan and a great calligrapher, in 1936. This is because no such name has been found in the historical records of Huoshan before. At that time, Mr. Yu Youren may have been entitled "little Nanyue" for the purpose of distinguishing it from Hengshan Mountain in Hunan Province. Compared with Hengshan in Hunan, Huoshan's Nanyue Mountain can only be a "little Nanyue". But Huoshan people are still used to call it Nanyue Mountain. In 1987, Nanyue Mountain was officially named "xiaonanyue scenic spot" with the approval of the provincial government. After that, the name of xiaonanyue was opened.

In addition, according to the folklore near Nanyue Mountain, Nanyue Mountain is also called "Foshan". Because, from a place called "yixianqiao" in the south of Nanyue Mountain, it looks like a Maitreya Buddha. This is the origin of the eighteen Arhats worshiping Nanyue (Maitreya Buddha). South of Nanyue Mountain is still called "one immortal bridge", "two immortal bridge", "three immortal bridge" It's a good place.
