architectural composition
The exhibition consists of four parts: statues of the Northern Dynasties, statues of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, statues of the Five Dynasties and the Song Dynasty, and rubbings of scriptures carved in the Northern Dynasties. Among them, the white marble statues in Yecheng and the red sandstone statues in Changle temple are the most exquisite.
The North corridor of the museum mainly displays 25 inscriptions from Tang Dynasty to the Republic of China. The north end of the East corridor has 11 inscriptions and 38 epitaphs. The west corridor has more than 60 inscriptions written by modern calligraphers. In the center of the museum, there are more than 20 steles and stone carvings scattered on the ground, which are of great ornamental value.
Development history
Handan stone carving art has a long history. As early as 8000 years ago, the ancestors of Cishan created the original stone carving art forms such as stone grinding plate and stone grinding stick. Up to now, there are precious stone inscriptions in Handan, which are called "Qun Chen Shang Zhen" and "Zhao Guo Yi Yang Nan Jie". During the Northern Dynasties, Yecheng once became the Buddhist Center in northern China, leaving behind the Xiangtang grottoes and many single stone statues, which created the "Northern Qi style" of Buddhist statue art and had a far-reaching influence on the statue art after Sui and Tang Dynasties.
Daming County stone carving museum is an open place for stone carving protection, tourism and sightseeing under the county cultural security office. It is a group of people with the county cultural security office. Originally named "Daming County stele Gallery", it was located in the southeast corner of the county guest house in 1984, covering an area of 5493 square meters. Since 1985, 11 steles have been imported. Later, considering the difficulty of relocation and the small location of the museum, it was relocated to the north of Kongzhuang village, 7 Huali County East, covering an area of 9800 square meters. From November 1988 to May 1989, the "five rites monument" was restored and erected. In 1989, it was renamed "Daming County stone carving Museum". In September 1996, more than 40 inscriptions were collected in the county, and 25 North corridors were built. From 1997 to 2004, more than 90 inscriptions were collected.
