Shenjiamen fishing port, located in the southeast of Zhoushan archipelago in Zhejiang Province, is a natural haven. It is also the largest natural fishing port in China and one of the three largest fishing ports in the world.
Introduction to scenic spots
Shenjiamen fishing port is located in the southeast of Zhoushan Island, facing the East China Sea and backed by Qinglong and Baihu mountains. It is a natural harbor about 10 Li Long and half Li wide. It is the largest natural fishing port in China. It is also known as the three largest fishing ports in the world together with Bergen port in Norway and kayao port in Peru. It forms the golden triangle of East China Sea tourism with Putuo Mountain, Yandang Zhujiajian and Taohua island.
As early as the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Shenjiamen had a lively market. It was recorded that "the market was parallel, the sea was mixed, and the peddlers came to Shenjiamen". It is known as "little Shanghai" and "living water wharf". There are thousands of boats shuttling here all the year round. During the fishing season, hundreds of thousands of fishermen from more than ten coastal provinces and cities gather in the harbor, with masts and fish hills and shrimps, forming a unique island fishing port landscape. At night, the fishing lights are in full bloom, and the stars are so beautiful.
Shenjiamen fishing port, 11.5km long and 0.1km-0.7km wide, crosses Shenjiamen town from east to west. It is a multi mouth channel harbor. The harbor area is 3.2 million square meters, the water area is 1.85 million square meters, the water depth varies from 4 to 12 meters, the sea bottom is flat, muddy silt. In the south of the port, there are Lujiashi, Mashi and xiaogandao as barriers to block strong wind and waves; in the north of the port, there are cipengshan, Qinglongshan, maoluwangang, dapinggang and Lingshan as barriers to block northwest wind. After modern development, it has gradually developed into a large fishing port with centralized fishing boats, replenishment and finishing, aquatic products processing and distribution, and also a comprehensive port for passenger and freight transportation.
Shenjiamen fishing port is located at the confluence of the Yangtze River, Qiantang River and Yongjiang River, connecting the Yangtze River Estuary to the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea fishing ground in the north, Hainan fishing ground in the south, wenwai and MINWAI fishing ground in the East. During the fishing season, fishing boats from coastal provinces and cities, Zhoushan Islands and even Taiwan often gather here, or come to the port for shelter, or trade fish, rest vessels and replenishment. At the peak, there were nearly 10000 ships and more than 100000 personnel.
Historical development
The earliest written record of the place names of Shenjiamen can be found in the book Xuanhe Fengshi Gaoli tujing written by Xu Jing in the Northern Song Dynasty. According to the book, in 1123, Xu et al. Sent an envoy to Koryo on the order of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty and arrived at Shenjiamen on May 25. They called this place "more than ten fishermen and qiaoke families, among which the name is big.". And remember the explanation of Youmen: "in most cases, there are mountains in the sea facing each other, among which there are waterways for boats, which are called the gate.". It can be seen that the place name of Shenjiamen is composed of surname and geographical features of sea area. According to Daoguang of Qing Dynasty and related modern literature, it is said that the ancient Shen family lived in Wuxing (now Huzhou of Zhejiang Province), and its origin may have originated here.
Before the Qing Dynasty, the tide of Shenjiamen port rose to the foothills of the north and south sides. In 1709, several seawalls were built on the north bank, and the flat area was expanded. By the time of Tongzhi and Guangxu, the North Bank of Leishi expanded its coastline, the fishery began to take shape, the business gradually flourished, and gradually formed a market town. According to the local textbook of Dinghai in 1907, Shenjiamen was the most convenient place for transportation. During the winter season, the hairtail catchers of Fujian boats live here. The sea is full of various things, and there are many hawkers and Milu people. In the south of the port, Lu Jiazhi is the anchorage resort. At the beginning of the 20th century, Shenjiamen has become famous as a professional fishing port at home and abroad. On March 9, 1936, the "Declaration" said: "Dinghai fishery in Zhejiang Province ranks first in the whole country, and Shenjiamen is especially a place where fishermen gather. In each winter flood season, there are more than 1200 pairs of large boats, which are released to the sea for fishing.
During the period of Japanese occupation during the Anti Japanese War and the later period of the liberation war, the fishing port and fishery of Shenjiamen were devastated and decayed. After liberation, Shenjiamen fishing port developed rapidly again. In 1960, the port area was planned and renovated, and its appearance changed greatly. Later, several large-scale renovations and infrastructure construction were carried out, and the port was gradually improved. There are hundreds of large, medium and small enterprises serving the fishery, such as aquatic products processing, marine medicine manufacturing, ship building, anchor chain, oil, etc., and the business service industry is flourishing and forming a network. In the rear, there are Zhejiang Ocean University, Marine Fisheries Research Institute and other educational and scientific research institutions, forming a strong intellectual support system. The port industrial system of Shenjiamen fishing port is rising.
