brief introduction
The full name of Pingding zhungeerle stele is Pingding zhungeerle Mingge mountaineering stele. It is located on gedeng mountain, 60 kilometers southwest of Zhaosu County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and about 100 meters away from Songbai border post in the north. It was established in the 25th year of Qianlong (1761).
The stone tablet is made of green sand stone, which was transported by more than 1000 honest and upright soldiers from Yecheng County in southern Xinjiang. The whole matter of erecting the tablet was supervised by the counsellor and Minister of Ili. It is 3.03 meters high, 0.98 meters wide and 0.27 meters thick. It is divided into three parts: the forehead, the body and the base. It is basically well preserved. Both sides of the forehead are engraved with the pattern of two dragons playing with pearls. The middle part of the front is engraved with the word "Huangqing" and the middle part of the back is engraved with the word "eternal". The two sides of the pedestal are carved with thousands of miles of blue waves, which sets off a picture of facing the sun. There are four kinds of inscriptions on both sides of the body. The front is Manchu and Chinese, and the back is Mongolian and Tibetan. There are eight lines of 240 characters in Chinese, written in four character leaf rhyme style. The inscription, written by Emperor Qianlong himself, describes the process of the historical event in 1756 when the Qing army calmed down the rebels in Geshan mountain. Dawaqi, the rebel leader, fled to the south of Xinjiang and was finally captured by aqimoduiji sberg of Wushi Hui tribe and taken to the Qing court. It praises the heroic spirit of the warriors in the battle of Geshan mountain.

historical significance
Ge mountaineering monument is a historical witness of safeguarding the reunification of the motherland and opposing national division, which has high historical value. After the Qing army won the battle to recover Xinjiang, Geshan mountain and a large area of territory north of Tekes River and south of Ili River (now Zhaosu, Tekes and Gongliu counties in Xinjiang) were still occupied by Tsarist Russia. Under the military deterrence of Zuo Zongtang's recovery of Xinjiang, diplomat Zeng Jize and Minister Changshun, according to the inscription of stabilizing Junggar, fought to "Ge mountaineering is our country's Zhenshan, on which there is the tablet of Le Mingge mountaineering of emperor gaozongchun". Finally, China recovered the above areas in 1882.
present situation
On June 25, 2001, as a cultural relic of the Qing Dynasty, Pingding zhungeerle stele was approved by the State Council to be listed in the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
Zhaosu County Pingding Zhungeer Mingge mountaineering stele patriotic education base exhibition main body is Pingding Zhungeer Mingge mountaineering stele (giant granite stele), which was established in 1761 after the Qing government calmed the rebellion of dawaqi, the leader of Zhungeer department in 1755. The stone tablet is 2.95 meters high, 0.83 meters wide and 0.27 meters thick. The forehead of the tablet is engraved with Panlong, the front is engraved with "Huangqing", the back is engraved with "eternal", and the inscription is a relief pattern of sunrise in the East China Sea. The inscription, written by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, is engraved on the front in Manchu and Chinese, and on the back in Mongolian and Tibetan. The full text is arranged vertically, with a total of more than 240 words in Chinese. It mainly records the process and achievements of the Qing army in pacifying the rebellion of dawaqi, the leader of the Junggar tribe. For more than 240 years, Geshan mountain has been well-known for its stele. Although the stele was eroded by wind and rain, and the inscriptions were mottled, the whole stele is intact, which has important historical value and research value. It is a key cultural relic under state protection.
In 1975, it won the title of key protected cultural relics at the autonomous region level.
In 2002, it won the title of national key protected cultural relics.
In 2008, it won the title of patriotic education base at the autonomous region level.
Visit information
The patriotic education base of Pingding zhungeerle Mingge mountaineering stele in Zhaosu county was built in 2004 and put into use in 2006. The base has a temporary exhibition area of 300 square meters, five historical relics (including one precious cultural relic), five display boards, several pictures, two billboards for the introduction of the monument, and two part-time commentators. They are responsible for explaining the origin of the monument, the process of anti rebellion and its historical significance.
