Dizang Temple
Dizang temple, located in the north slope of Shizishan scenic spot, Gulou District, Nanjing City, was built in September 1999 and completed by the end of 2000. It is planned to build one main hall, one heavenly king hall, two wing rooms and several monk rooms. National AAAA tourist attraction. Dizang temple, formerly known as dizang temple, was originally located on the west side of Xiaguan section of Qinhuai River. Founded in the late Qing Dynasty, it is an ancient Buddhist nunnery in Xiaguan area. It has been popular in history, providing religious activities places for religious people around. In 1999, it was renamed dizang temple and moved to the present site.
Dizang temple, built in the second year of emperor suzong Zhide of Tang Dynasty, was originally located at the top of Qingliang mountain. In the Ming Dynasty, it was moved to the vicinity of Fenghuang bridge in Liangshan of the Qing Dynasty and renamed dizang nunnery. In December 1937, the Japanese invaders occupied Nanjing, and the dizang nunnery was robbed and then changed to a school. After the victory of Anti Japanese War, dizang nunnery was rebuilt in Sanchahe area. In 1997, it was demolished due to the reconstruction of the old city.
In October 1999, dizang temple was rebuilt in Shizishan, with yellow walls and black tiles.
historical origin
According to relevant records, before liberation, the dizang nunnery was managed by a young monk of Yinian Buddhist hall in Xiaguan area. Later, because the monk didn't abide by the rules, the masses elected nanzushi nunnery to be the leader of the family at that time, and WeiMiao nunnery was also in charge. In January 1936, master Xuesong, then president of Nanjing Branch of Chinese Buddhist Association, and monk Junling of Pilu Temple notarized the temple. WeiMiao nun handed over the temple to Qi Jingqian, a local resident.
Abbot of the temple
Shi Shengrui, the current abbot of dizang temple, is a native of Longcheng District, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province. He was born in October 1973 and became a monk in May 1988. He came to the temple in 1994 to assist Qi Jingqian and took over the temple in 1999. There are three nuns in dizang temple.

However, due to some reasons, the construction could not be started, so there was a saying that "there are records but no buildings" in ancient times.
In 2000, Nanjing municipal Party committee, Nanjing municipal government and Xiaguan District built Yuejianglou scenic spot in Shizishan, which ended the history of Yuejianglou for more than 600 years.
As a part of the scenic spot, the newly built main hall of dizang temple is in the style of ancient architecture of Ming and Qing Dynasties. The roof is made of gray tiles and cornices, and the brackets under the eaves are painted with colors. There is an old tree on the left and right of the main hall. It is said that it has been a hundred years old. Its branches are vigorous and vigorous. They need to be hugged by two people. It looks like a pavilion and is full of vitality. The whole temple is hidden among green mountains and trees, echoing Yuejiang tower, becoming a scenic spot of lion mountain.
