Gangjian Temple
Gangjian temple, located in Gangjian village, tuxiu Township, Sakya County, Xigaze Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region, is a Gelug monastery of Tibetan Buddhism. Gangjian temple is located in Gangjian village, Laxiu Township, Sakya County, Shigatse area. It can be reached by national highway 318 and is 35 km away from Shigatse City. The temple is a Gelug monastery of Tibetan Buddhism. In 1442, it was founded by banqin sambuzasi. At the end of the 20th century, the temple was renovated and expanded, with a new hall, a Buddha platform, a monastery and some monk houses. The temple has a large scale and many Buddhist halls, which are mainly used for Qiangba Buddha. On June 4 every year in Tibetan calendar, the temple holds Buddha exhibition activities. After people come here to watch the dancing and Buddha exhibition, they go to the holy lake of the temple garden to watch this life and pray for the afterlife.
The living Buddha in Gangjian temple is Gangjian living Buddha. The fifth living Buddha of Gangjian is Gangjian · losantudan · chilieyapei. He was born in 1941 and sat down in Gangjian temple in 1945. Later he went into exile in India. In 1981, he visited Europe for the first time and has lived in Italy ever since. He believed in Dorje xiongdeng, often returned to China to visit relatives, and took part in Buddhist exchange activities. He met Erdeni quejijianzan and Erdeni quejijeb. In 2006, he said that although he lived in Italy, he returned to Gangjian temple every year. On August 15, 2010, Zhu Weiqun, executive vice minister of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, came to Gangjian temple. Wang zuoan, director of the State Bureau of religion, Gama, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the people's Congress of the Tibet Autonomous Region, and labapingcuo, director general of the China Tibetan Studies Research Center, accompanied them. Gangjian living Buddha and monks from Gangjian temple, who are visiting Italy in China, held a welcome ceremony for them. Gangjian living Buddha also joined Zhu Weiqun planted two pine trees together.
In July 2002, Erdeni quejijeb, a Panchen Lama, paid homage to Xialu temple and Gangjian temple, and participated in the Buddhist activities of the two temples.
