In the second year of Tiansheng of Song Dynasty (1024), a visiting monk of Shouxing temple in Tiantai Mountain, Zhejiang Province, presided over by Yanhe baolunlai temple and built a pagoda in the east of the temple. Because there is Guanyin hall in Yongfu temple in Tashi, it is also called "Guanyin Hall Tower". History and culture
Yongfu Temple Pagoda has solid construction quality and strict structure. It is said that in the hundreds of years from the Yuan Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were eight earthquakes in Poyang, which damaged many houses and buildings, but the Yongfu temple tower was not damaged once. Yongfu Temple Pagoda has been destroyed and restored several times in history. It has experienced many vicissitudes, but it always stands in the middle of the county, witnessing a period of historical process and development. Careful observation shows that the color and structure of the exterior walls of each floor of Yongfu temple tower are different, which is a deep mark and witness of many renovations in history. Among them, the most modified is the top of the tower. +In 1978, when the county people's government appropriated special funds for repair, because the top of the tower was destroyed, it was rebuilt according to the Northern Song tower, the circular tower top, which is quite different from the original Yongfu temple tower, the Southern Song tower. +In 2002 +, the government allocated funds to rebuild the pagoda, which restored the original appearance of Yongfu temple to the maximum extent.
In the early 1980s, two crystal balls were unearthed when the Yongfu temple tower base was cleaned up in our county. The two crystal balls are crystal clear, and are the treasures of the town tower. They are identified as national first-class cultural relics by experts and are treasured by the County Museum.
Speaking of the name of Yongfu Temple Pagoda, there is another origin. In the first year of the Tianjian reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty, Xiao Hui, the younger brother of Xiao Yan, the king of Poyang, donated the palace on the east side of the palace to build a temple called "Xianming Temple" in order to pray for the Buddha to protect his mother's early cure of eye disease. In the Tang Dynasty, it was renamed "Longxing" and "Dayun", and in the Song Dynasty, it was renamed "Yongning". In the second year of emperor Tiansheng of Song Dynasty, pagodas were popular all over the country, and Yongning Temple also built a pagoda in the east of the temple. In the Yuan Dynasty, the tower was slightly inclined. During the maintenance of the tower, a bottle of manna was dug out at the foot of the tower. It is said that drinking this nectar can make you live forever. The abbot paid it to the imperial court. After the emperor got it, the abbot was granted the title of Yongfu Zen master of Qianyuan Wanshou. From then on, Yongning Temple was renamed Yongfu temple, and the pagoda was also named Yongfu Temple Pagoda.
Now, on the basis of protection, the people of Poyang will repair and expand the relevant buildings, and strive to restore the former style and become a real scenic spot of Poyang. It used to be free to enter the tower, but now it costs 2 yuan to enter the tower. This ancient pagoda, which has been built for nearly a thousand years, stands majestically on the shore of the Pohu lake.
