Historical evolution

The school running history of Xingyi Normal University for nationalities can be traced back to the first Bishan academy founded in the Qianlong period (1736-1795) of the Qing Dynasty. According to the records of Xingyi Prefecture, in 1813 (the 18th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty), du you and Li Hui, the magistrate of Xingyi County, proposed to rebuild the Academy. The rebuilt academy is the second Bishan Academy in history and also the founder of Xingyi Normal University for nationalities It's the source of the world.

In 1904 (the 31st year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty), Bishan Academy was transformed into Xingyi Primary School of higher learning, and a normal school was set up.

In 1919, the normal school was renamed simple normal school.

In 1952, it was renamed Xingyi Normal School of Guizhou Province.

In 1975, with the approval of Guizhou provincial Party committee, it was changed into "507" Normal University in Xingyi.

In 1978, the State Council approved the establishment of Xingyi teachers college.

In 1993, the University was upgraded to southwest Guizhou Normal College for nationalities.

In 2005, Xingyi normal school and Anlong normal school were integrated into Qianxinan teachers college.

In 2006, the central campus of the school was built in Dingxiao Economic Development Zone of Xingyi City.

In 2009, the Ministry of Education approved the promotion to Xingyi Normal University for nationalities.

On December 12, 2016, the University passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of education;

On December 28, 2016, with the approval of Guizhou Provincial Academic Degree Committee, the University was newly added as the construction unit of master's degree in the 13th five year plan.

Department major

As of April 2020, the university has 14 secondary colleges, including the school of politics and history, the school of literature and media, the school of foreign languages, the school of Mathematical Sciences, the school of physics and engineering technology, the school of biology and chemistry, and the school of information technology, with 41 undergraduate majors, 7 junior college majors, and 1 bilingual preparatory class for ethnic minorities, covering law, education, literature, history, science and technology There are nine university disciplines: Science, engineering, management, art and agriculture.

In April 2017, three new undergraduate majors of Xingyi Normal University for nationalities were registered and approved by the Ministry of education. The three new undergraduate majors are dance, automobile service engineering and Chinese language international education, and enrollment will be arranged from 2017.

Cooperation and exchange

In April 2016, Taiwan's Jingyi University visited the University for investigation and exchange.
