Xiaoyao town is located in the southwest of Xihua county, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, bordering Yanling and Fugou in the north, Linying in the West and Shangshui and Yancheng across the river in the south. The town covers an area of 56.87 square kilometers (2017), with 57000 mu of arable land.
It governs Dongmen, Nanmen, Ximen, Beimen, Zhouzhuang, Changcun, Baishi, xiaoduzhuang, chaicheng, Baiwan, Zhangwan, daduzhuang, Yanzhuang, Jiaodong, Dongcai, xifuling, dongfuling, Gudong, Guxi, Nancang, Wuzhuang, Liuzhai, Wuxiang, Wuzhai, Jiaoxi, Xijia, Shagou and Jiahetan Village, Lizhai village, 29 administrative villages and 54 natural villages, with a total population of 38999 (2017), are the main Hui settlements in the county.

Hula soup originated in Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty. The soup is delicious and Longyan is very happy. It is named "Yutang". After the death of the Ming Dynasty, Zhao Ji, the imperial chef, fled to Xiaoyao (now Xiaoyao Town, Xihua county) with the medicine and spread it there. Because of this, the local people changed their name to "hu la Tang".

Historical evolution
Xiaoyao is a famous town in Zhongzhou with a long history. It was built in the Jian'an period of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was originally named "Xiaotao". It is also known as "Heliu town" because of the sand and Yinghe river. Qingshui county was set up in the late Song Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it became an important commercial port connecting the upper and lower reaches of Shahe River. Together with Luohe River, Zhoukou River and Jieshou River, it was known as the "four wharves" of Shahe River. Wang Zhi county, an official here, once wrote poems praising the local boat collection and prosperous business. Among them, there is a sentence that "the weather is favorable, the place is favorable, and the people are willing to serve for four years. Therefore, Xiaoyao gets its name and continues to use it. During the period of the Republic of China, it was the seat of Xihua county government. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, it was the people's Government of the Sixth District of Xihua county at the beginning. Later, it was renamed as Central Township, people's Commune and township. In 1985, it was withdrawn from township to town. In 1992, it was named "Zhongzhou famous town" by the Provincial Department of construction. In October 1996, it was designated as "comprehensive reform pilot town" by Zhoukou district administrative office. Before the Qing Dynasty, Xiaoyao town was not called Xiaoyao Town, it was called Heliu town. The reason why it is called this strange name has a lot to do with Yinghe River, because here, Yinghe River and Shahe River merge, so it has this name.
The name can be traced back to the Han Dynasty, when it was called heliukou. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, it was changed to Heliu Town, also known as Xiaotao and Xiaoyao. In the Song Dynasty, the town of Heliu was already quite prosperous, so the government set up Qingshui County here to govern the whole territory of today's Xihua county and some towns of today's Shangcai, Yancheng and Shangshui counties. Wang Zhi county, who served here in the Song Dynasty, expressed his feelings and wrote a poem praising: "all kinds of businesses are flourishing, and there are several small kilns. The officials are obedient and the people are peaceful. The weather is favorable and the place is favorable. I have been happy for four years. " The name of "Xiaoyao" came from this. In the Qing Dynasty, it was simply renamed Xiaoyao town. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, Xiaoyao town developed rapidly. For a time, it became the economic center of the surrounding areas. The prosperity of Commerce will inevitably lead to the expansion of urban construction. The town has also started to build civil engineering, a large number of temples have sprung up, and five village gates and two water gates have been built to protect the safety of residents and merchants. Many old people still vaguely remember the appearance of the gate, but like all the ancient buildings, they have disappeared.

The origin of Hula soup: in order to please the emperor, the elder Yan Song got a pair of flavoring medicine from a Taoist to help the emperor prolong his life and drink the soup. The imperial chef served it with Huizong, and Longyan was very happy. When he asked why the soup was made, the imperial chef said "longevity soup". The soup was so delicious that Longyan was so happy that he named it "Yutang". So he left the imperial chef in the palace and gave him the surname Zhao. After the collapse of the Ming Dynasty, Zhao Yuchu fled south because of the war and settled in Xihua Xiaoyao Town, where "longevity soup" also settled. Zhao Ji, the imperial chef, received the favor of Xiaoyao Hu, so he taught this recipe to Hu. After several years of folk processing and development, a kind of Hula soup was born in Xiaoyao Town, which is suitable for the taste of northerners, spicy, mellow and fragrant. As a result, the soup was fragrant and spicy, and was managed by Hu family. Later, it was gradually called "Hu hot soup" by local people.
The main ingredients of Xiaoyao town Hula soup are: refined powder, cooked beef and mutton, and the ingredients are star anise, pepper, Chinese prickly ash, fennel, Amomum, nutmeg, Caogou, Bagui, Liangjiang, vermicelli, monosodium glutamate, refined salt, Auricularia auricula, flour euryale, sesame oil, vinegar, etc. The decoction has the functions of digestion and appetizer, resolving phlegm and cough, expelling wind and cold, activating blood circulation and removing stasis, clearing away heat and toxin, promoting qi and resolving malaria, removing insects and stagnant discharge, diuresis and removing eczema. 1. The operation of shop stalls is similar to the traditional operation mode, except that in the traditional soup making process, the operators buy large materials from the manufacturers and then process the soup. The latter is the manufacturer who benefits from the pure material of Hula soup.
2. The second mode is the above-mentioned enterprise industrial production of spicy soup. This mode was started by Henan Jingyao Food Co., Ltd. In 1992, Ms. Hu Suhua, the 19th generation successor of Hula soup in Xiaoyao Town, who used to run a hula soup chain store in Zhengzhou, was inspired by the limitations of traditional Hula soup operation and inconvenient promotion, which made it difficult for ordinary people to drink whenever and wherever they wanted, so she changed her business model. Back home in Xiaoyao Town, we set up a factory, specializing in industrialized production of spicy soup seasoning. It is convenient for thousands of households and other operators to use hu la soup to make hu la soup, so that the people can really "drink the authentic Xiao Yao hu la soup without leaving home."
