With an area of about 60000 square meters, Xiaoli site is a cultural relic of Hougang phase I of Yangshao period, dating from 5700 to 6300 years ago.
In Tongguan County, there are two Yangshao cultural sites: one is nanzhaizi Yangshao cultural site. It is located at the intersection of yuhuatun River and Tonghe River in nanzhaizi, Wucun township. It is high in the South and low in the north. It is about 350 meters wide from east to west and 1000 meters long from north to south. Most of the cultural relics of this site are still in good condition except for some ash pits damaged by the construction of Longhai railway. It was found that there was a high 2. In 1980, the unearthed documents were collected in the county cultural center.
In August 2014, during the archaeological exploration in cooperation with huayutau real estate Plaza project, a Yangshao cultural site with an area of 48227 square meters and a cultural layer thickness of about 3 meters was found.
The newly discovered site is located in Dongcheng District of Xuchang City, near the intersection of Tianbao road and Weiwu road. According to the preliminary exploration, the specific location is located in the west half of huayutau real estate Plaza Project (the planned West Gate), the south of shilimiao community and the south block of the community, close to the bend of an ancient river. It is about 1-3 meters deep from the surface and gradually deepens from north to south, hiding under the alluvial soil.
Based on the analysis of the unearthed pottery samples and soil inclusions, the site should be the Yangshao culture site 7000-5000 years ago, and the accumulation layer after Yangshao culture is obvious.
