brief introduction
Name: Wang Renqiu stele
There are 34 lines of inscriptions, ranging from 17 to 51 words, including 1628 words, and 10 words of inscriptions, totaling 1638 words. The inscription praises Wang Renqiu's proposal to set up more than 20 prefectures to the west of Yaofu and to develop and manage them while he was appointed governor of Hedong Prefecture. On the other hand, Wang Renqiu helped Tang generals to pacify mengjian, governor of yangguazhou, and local chieftains. Wang Ren was born in Anning county. He was a chieftain with a big surname of Baiman in Xi'an. He was born in the army of Hedong Prefecture, the governor of Hedong Prefecture, and the guard. He died in the fifth year of Xianheng (i.e. the first year of Shangyuan of Gaozong, 674 AD). Twenty four years after Wang's death, Wang Shanbao began to bury and erect a monument for him. The new characters created by Wu Zetian are used in the inscription. The establishment of Hedong Prefecture can not be seen in the old and new Tangshu. It should be located in the area of Zhaozhou (now Fengyi Town, Dali City) in the Yuan Dynasty, between the jurisdiction of Baiman in Xilong and wuman in yangguazhou. The historical facts recorded in the inscriptions can make up for the lack of official history, and also prove the Tang government's governance of Yunnan's border areas and the implementation of its decrees. In addition, it also reflects Wang Renqiu's loyalty to the Tang government.

History Introduction
Although Wang Renqiu was in the border court, he was always concerned about the territory development of the Tang Dynasty. He once proposed that the Tang Dynasty should "engage in the development of prefectures and counties" in Yunnan on the basis of the fertile land and abundant production in longshuozhong (about 662 A.D.). During the Xianheng period of Tang Dynasty, Meng Jian, the governor of yangguazhou (now the north of Weishan County), launched a military attack on Yaozhou. Wang Renqiu led a strong army to fight for the Tang Dynasty. In the fifth year of Xianheng, Wang Renqiu died of illness at the age of 44. His son Wang Shanbao inherited his father's position and was also trusted by the Tang Dynasty. He once lived in Kyoto. In the age of Wang Renqiu's activities, Yunnan was in the decline of two dynasties, and Nanzhao was gradually rising. Although the inscription was written for Wang Renqiu, it involves the important historical facts of Yunnan at that time and provides us with valuable historical materials from many aspects. The inscriptions contain many new words of Wu Zetian's transformation, which shows how Wang Shanbao and others carried out the decrees of the Tang Dynasty. The inscription "ancient strength of calligraphy and painting" reflects the continuous spread of Central Plains culture. The stele has been listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Yunnan Province, with a stele Pavilion.
