Nangu blockhouse

The blockhouse is rhombic in shape. Except for the floor, it is built with stone bars. It is 4.3 meters high, 10.4 meters long and 6.3 meters wide. A 1.1 meter high top is decorated in the middle of the top of the blockhouse.

Nangu blockhouse

Nangu blockhouse is located on a hill about 300 meters south of Daping township government, Yuanyang County, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It was built in 1900.

The blockhouse is rhombic in shape. Except for the floor, it is built with stone bars. It is 4.3 meters high, 10.4 meters long and 6.3 meters wide. In the northeast of the blockhouse, a door was opened in and out of the middle wall, and two gunholes were left under the upper floor to aim at the intersection. The stone plaque above the door is engraved with "Xiongzhen? "South" is a big word. The periphery of the blockhouse is surrounded by solid stone walls with a height of 2.4 meters, a thickness of 1.2 meters and a length of 110 meters. Blockhouse is an ancient border defense military facility, which was announced as a cultural relic protection unit of Yuanyang County in 1990. Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture is located in Yunnan Guizhou Plateau in South Yunnan. There are limestone mountains, plateaus, valleys, dam areas, hills and other landforms in the prefecture. The altitude drop is large and the terrain is extremely complex. The region has abundant precipitation, sufficient light, small annual temperature difference, humid climate and monsoon climate, which mainly belongs to subtropical plateau monsoon climate.

As the Tropic of cancer crosses the state, the temperature and humidity in the state increase with the decrease of latitude from north to south, showing the characteristics of hot and humid. The rainy season in Honghe Prefecture is mainly from May to October, and the frost period is from late November to January and February of the next year. Therefore, to travel in Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, we should avoid the summer and autumn when it is hot and rainy, and the best time is from March to April and from September to November when the light is mild and the rainfall is less.
