Diaoziwei Nature Reserve
Dizi tail is located on the left bank of the Tanshui estuary, which shares the Tanshui estuary with the fresh water. Because the topography of the estuary is curved, it is called "dizi". In the past, because of the deep water along the coast, ships could be moored. In the early Qing Dynasty, it was the place where ships were moored. In the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, there was a market. Later, due to the serious siltation of the Tanshui estuary, it gradually declined after the reign of Emperor Qianlong.
This is a typical estuarine ecosystem. Shuibizi intercepts a large amount of sediment and organic matter carried by Danshui River, forming a swamp. However, due to the pollution of river water and sand mining near the area, the survival of mangroves with land security function is threatened. In order to preserve the ecosystem of mangrove and its companion plants and avoid human disturbance, the Agricultural Commission announced the area as "diaoziwei nature reserve" in January 1994.
Basic introduction
Time of establishment: January 10, 1994
Area: 30 hectares
Location: Bali Township, Taipei County
Administration: Taipei County Government
Main conservation objects: shuibizi pure forest and its associated animals
geographical position
This area is located in the South Bank of Tanshui estuary, Bali Township, Taipei County, close to Guanyin Mountain, surrounded by Datun mountain system and Guanyin Mountain system, forming a natural barrier.
natural environment
1. Temperature: the average annual temperature is about 22 ℃, the minimum monthly average temperature is about 15 ℃, and the maximum monthly average temperature is about 28.7 ℃.
2. Rainfall: the annual rainfall is about 2100mm.
3. Altitude: 0-10 meters.
4. Terrain: this area is located in the intertidal zone of the freshwater estuary, with flat terrain, which can be divided into sandy beach and coastal wetland.
Animal and plant resources
The most precious plant resource in this area is mangrove plant brushwood, which has the research value of phytogeography. In addition, reed usually grows near water.
There are birds, crabs, shellfish, fish and so on. Shellfish include Meretrix meretrix, sauteed conch, peacock clam, oyster, corn conch, barnacle; fish include mudskipper and flower jump. There are more than 100 kinds of birds, mainly migratory birds. Among them, the appearance of egret in this area deserves the most attention. It is an endangered species identified by the International Union for conservation of nature (IUCN). Due to the change of local environment, the occurrence of egret and other species of birds tends to decrease.
Habitat environment
The alluvial activities of Danshui River and the rising and falling tides day by day bring abundant organic matter and create a special ecological environment. The biological characteristics of this area are that there are not many species, but the quantity is considerable.
This area is a wetland ecosystem with rich productivity, attracting many wild birds to stop. When the tide is dry, the birds will forage on the Bund; when the tide is full, the inland mudflat becomes the habitat of birds. The birds in this area are mainly migratory birds, which are in good condition from September to April every year.
The Taipei wild bird society has carried out a monitoring program in this area. It is found that the habitat environment in this area has changed a lot, and the number of migratory birds has gradually decreased, which is worthy of attention.
Signs and fences are set up in the area to prevent rubbish from entering. There are still some problems in this area, such as garbage pollution, land development, waste soil accumulation, tourist damage and so on.
traffic
Take the bus: there are two kinds of trains: "Banqiao to Bali line" and "Tacheng street to Bali line", get off at the station of gouziwei.
