Introduction to the library
The memorial hall of the victory and surrender of the Chinese people in the Anti Japanese war is the site where the Chinese people accepted the surrender of the Japanese invaders. On August 21-23, 1945, Takeo Imai, deputy chief of the general staff of the Japanese aggressor army, flew to Zhijiang for surrender under the order of Ningji Okamura. He Yingqin, commander in chief of the Chinese army, presided over the surrender.
From 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the 21st, the world-famous surrender ceremony was held at Qiliqiao, the south end of Zhijiang airport. More than 100 senior KMT generals and senior staff were present at the meeting. U.S. military chief of staff in the Chinese Theater of operations, Mr. pereno, also attended the meeting as a demoted representative. To commemorate the surrender of Zhijiang and mark the first complete victory of the Chinese people against imperialist aggression since 1840, the ruling authorities allocated 940 million yuan to build a "surrender Park" covering an area of 90 mu. In the end, due to the lack of funds, only one "surrender Memorial square" was built for commemoration.
In 1985, the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee decided to hold the 40th anniversary of the victory of the Anti Japanese war in Changsha and Zhijiang. The CPC Zhijiang County Committee allocated 8200 square meters to establish the "surrender Memorial Hall". Liu Fusheng, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, and Qi Shouliang, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the provincial people's Congress, cut the ribbon for the memorial hall when it opened on September 3. Mr. Yang Botao, commander of the 18th army of the Kuomintang, who was originally in Xiangxi during the anti Japanese War, also attended the ribbon cutting ceremony. The memorial hall of the victory and surrender of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japan is now a key cultural relic protection unit in Hunan Province and a patriotism education base in Hunan Province.
A few days ago, in the "list of national secondary museums" released by the State Administration of cultural relics, the memorial hall of the victory and surrender of the Chinese people's war of resistance against Japanese aggression, which is located in the western border of Hunan Province, was on the list, marking that the county-level Memorial hall has been recognized by the national cultural relics department and has become a national museum.
In 2008, the State Administration of cultural relics carried out the work of Museum Evaluation and grading in China. According to the management organization, collection protection and scientific research, exhibition and social service, museums were divided into level 1, level 2 and level 3 from high to low. The 171 national second-class museums publicized this time were submitted for self-evaluation by museums, evaluated by provincial cultural relics administrative departments, and examined and recorded by the National Museum Evaluation Committee according to the national Museum Evaluation Method (Trial Implementation), It was decided by the State Administration of cultural relics.
