There are 367 species of plants belonging to 257 genera and 93 families (including 21 varieties and 2 subspecies). 412 species of birds have been found, accounting for one third of the total birds in China. There are nearly 70 species of national key protected animals in China. It is an important channel for migratory birds and one of the four international bird watching resorts

There are 2 families, 2 genera and 4 species of pteridophytes, 4 families, 6 genera and 8 species of gymnosperms, 87 families, 248 genera and 355 species of angiosperms, including 260 species of herbs and 95 species of woody plants (56 species of trees and 39 species of shrubs). The main plant species are Compositae, Rosaceae, Leguminosae, Labiatae, Liliaceae and Gramineae, accounting for 45.3% of the total plant species. The main representative plants are Populus tomentosa, Populus canadensis, Robinia pseudoacacia, Amorpha fruticosa, Tamarix chinensis, Suaeda salsa, Phragmites australis, Hemarthria officinalis, silvergrass, aster, Typha angustifolia, Welsh onion, lotus, water lily, etc. There are 11 alien invasive plants: Amaranthus retroflexus, Amaranthus glauca, Amaranthus elongatus, milkweed, Petunia rotundifolia, Phytolacca americana, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, aster conyzoides, Erigeron annulatus, Erigeron canadensis and Eriobotrya japonica. There are 30 kinds of aquatic plants: Sophora japonica, duckweed, Geling, lotus, white water lily, yellow water lily, red water lily, Ceratophyllum, Myriophyllum spicatum, Hydrilla verticillata, beaver, Potamogeton crispus, Sagittaria Sagittaria, barracuda, Acorus tatarinowii, lytchus, Typha angustifolia, Oenanthe javanica, water spinach, water spinach, water spinach, water spinach, water spinach, Polygonum hydropiper, Juncus cuspidatum, Phragmites australis, water chestnut, water chestnut Grass, scallion, xiangfuzi, broken rice sedge. On November 16, 2015, the construction design scheme for the transformation of Beidaihe National Wetland Park and its surrounding forest stands in Hebei Province passed the review

On December 31, 2015, the State Forestry Administration issued the notice of the State Forestry Administration on the acceptance of pilot National Wetland Park in 2015 (linshfa [2015] No. 188). Hebei Beidaihe National Wetland Park (pilot) passed the pilot acceptance of the State Forestry Administration and officially became a national wetland park

In May 2017, Hebei Beidaihe National Wetland Park was listed in the 13th five year plan for national wetland protection
