Guangzhou International Finance Center (hereinafter referred to as "Guangzhou IFC") is also known as "Guangzhou West Tower". Evolution of construction

On January 22, 2003, Guangzhou planned to build the East and West twin towers, and the international financial center of Guangzhou is the West Tower.

In 2003, the twin towers, including Guangzhou International Financial Center, moved from the north of the Pearl River to the south.

On November 9, 2004, Guangzhou international financial center selected the design scheme.

On January 31, 2007, the construction of Guangzhou International Financial Center was officially started; on June 6, the basement project of Guangzhou International Financial Center was completed, and the above ground project immediately started.

On May 29, 2008, the first glass curtain wall was installed in Guangzhou international financial center.

On December 31, 2008, the structure of Guangzhou International Financial Center was capped.

In 2010, Guangzhou International Financial Center was completed and put into use.

On September 26, 2012, Guangzhou International Financial Center was fully opened.

On May 17, 2016, the commercial podium of Guangzhou International Financial Center reopened after renovation.

Overview

The height of Guangzhou international financial center is 437.5 meters, and the helipad is 449.2 meters. The main building has 103 floors on the ground and 4 floors underground, covering an area of 31000 square meters and a total construction area of 456000 square meters.

The main building of Guangzhou international financial center is an office building on the 1st-66th floor, a hotel on the 67th-100th floor, and a 13.5m office lobby on the 1st floor. The net height of each floor is 3M. The podium is a shopping mall with 4 floors and a construction area of 44000 square meters.

Pile foundation

The basement floor area of Guangzhou international financial center is about 25000 square meters. There are 47 manually dug piles in the main tower. They are super large diameter piles with the maximum diameter of 4.8m and the maximum section of 3.2m × 5.7m. The bearing stratum at the pile end is slightly weathered argillaceous siltstone. The concrete strength grade of the retaining wall is C25, and the thickness is 0.2m; the concrete strength grade of the pile body is C50, and the cement with the strength above 42.5 is used.

Building body

Guangzhou International Financial Center has up to 30 reinforced concrete cylinders around the tower body, each with a diameter of 1.8 meters.

The glass curtain wall of Guangzhou international financial center covers an area of 85000 square meters and is made of hollow double-layer Low-E glass. Nano coated glass can transmit light selectively, and the material can resist 70% sunlight and solar radiation. The heat transfer coefficient of the glass is 50% lower than that of the ordinary glass. Compared with the ordinary glass exterior wall building, it can reduce 40% of the heat into the indoor and reduce the operation energy consumption. In addition, semi toughened laminated hollow Low-E glass can reduce the self explosion rate and ensure that the glass will not fall off. There are 156 pieces of glass on the 32 floors with the largest number of curtain walls, and 122 pieces of glass on the top floor of the 103 floors with the smallest number.

The helipad of Guangzhou international financial center is located on the top of the building. It is not only a general helicopter landing platform, but also a viewing platform to realize common functions in the field of general aviation, such as official flight, emergency rescue, medical rescue and so on.

Architectural features

Appearance

The exterior design of Guangzhou international financial center is designed by Wilson Earl architects of the United Kingdom. It is implemented by the architectural design and Research Institute of South China University of technology. It adopts the "transparent crystal" scheme of the huge skew grid column tube structure. The building plane of the main tower is an arc triangle composed of six arcs. The main idea of the design is the curve shape and transparent smooth building facade. Through the gradual change of width, the two ends are small and the middle is large, reaching the widest at one third of the height, revealing the spindle shape of the building.

The building structure of Guangzhou International Financial Center adopts a huge skew grid support system, which presents a flow geometric pattern and has a visual contrast with the floor partition and curtain wall system. With the height of the tower, the size of "diamond shaped oblique grid" structure is gradually reduced. This kind of extension design makes the building present the visual effect of "going up to the sky".

Anti seismic

The plane arc triangle shape of Guangzhou international financial center can reduce the lateral displacement. The large skew grid outer tube of concrete-filled steel tube has good lateral torsional stiffness. In addition, the whole tube in tube structure also makes the building light weight and can resist the earthquake of magnitude 8 (the seismic fortification intensity of Guangzhou is magnitude 7). The stiffness of the skeleton structure can resist the horizontal wind and replace the heavy structure of the conventional outrigger truss, so there is no need to use dampers to reduce the horizontal displacement, and the atrium does not need more main supporting structures.

Curtain wall

The plane curtain wall system of Guangzhou international financial center is a series of double-layer horizontal refuge layer and intermediate equipment layer, which adopts different glass modules to provide ventilation design. At the top of the tower, the glass curtain wall goes beyond the top and continues to go up, making the top of the tower disappear into the sky.

Important events

From June 28 to July 10, 2016, Guangzhou International Financial Center, together with the British Consulate General in Guangzhou and Guangzhou Grand Theatre, jointly held the "Midsummer Night Dream - Guangzhou IFC Shakespeare exhibition and cross time dialogue" cultural and artistic activities in "m space".

From August 27 to September 12, 2015, Guangzhou International Financial Center held the "hand and familiarity" photography exhibition of Ma Jiahui in M space. A total of 52 photos of Ma Jiahui during his journey were displayed, recording Ma Jiahui's experience and story behind each photo. On August 27, Ma Jiahui held a special lecture on "finding yourself in other people's culture".

From November 19 to November 29, 2015, Guangzhou International Financial Center held the "Jiang Yiyan love public Photography Exhibition" in M space, exhibiting nearly 50 photos of Jiang Yiyan during the journey of supporting education.

On November 9, 2016, Guangzhou International Financial Center held the thought Salon of "current and future development mode of urban space" in M space.

On November 25, 2016, Guangzhou International Financial Center held the "love, on the road" elite salon in M space.
