Renwei temple had some Taoist buildings in Yuan Dynasty, and large-scale construction was carried out in Yongle decade of Ming Dynasty. Like all Taoist temples in Wudang, Renwei Temple mainly includes some main buildings, such as main hall, dragon and tiger hall, Lingguan hall, etc. Now these halls have been destroyed in the Ming Dynasty, people can only imagine the scale of them from the ruins.

When Ren Wei's view of morality was carried out, there appeared some unruly people who were greedy of women. They hide some beautiful women who come to offer incense. For Taoism, it is a great crime against the commandments and Emperor's edicts. When the emperor knew about it, he sent the royal guards to the mountain to kill. The army buried these outlaws in the soil, ploughed them to death with an iron plow, and then burned Renwei temple to warn future generations.
