Cao Yu memorial hall, located in Qianjiang City, Hubei Province, is the only local Memorial Hall in China to collect and display the works and related materials of Cao Yu, an outstanding modern dramatist in China.

Introduction to the exhibition hall

Cao Yu memorial hall is the only local Memorial Hall in China to collect and display Mr. Cao Yu's works and related materials. The museum is located in Caoyu Park of Qianjiang garden city. In 2004, Qianjiang municipal Party committee and government invested 6 million yuan in the construction of the museum, with a building area of 3000 square meters. The memorial hall is divided into two floors, with four exhibition halls: Cao Yu's preface hall, the first exhibition hall, the second exhibition hall and calligraphy and painting exhibition hall. It is divided into nine parts: hometown, memory, education, communication and intimate friends. It introduces in detail Cao Yu's life story, thunderstorm, sunrise, wilderness and other popular works. There are more than 1000 kinds of precious materials and objects of Mr. Cao Yu's works, manuscripts, pictures, paintings and calligraphy. Caoyu memorial hall has received more than 200000 domestic and foreign experts, scholars, leaders at all levels and tourists. It is an important window for the world to remember Mr. Caoyu and Qianjiang in foreign cultural exchanges

Furnishings in the Museum

The exhibition of Cao Yu memorial hall makes full use of all kinds of modern scientific and technological means, highlights the characteristics, and shows Mr. Cao Yu's life and creation in a three-dimensional, comprehensive, brand-new and all-round way. The collection of materials is rich and has high artistic taste. In order to be accurate and authoritative, Professor Cao Shujun of Shanghai Academy of drama was invited to write a script for the whole exhibition.

The memorial hall is divided into two floors, with a total area of 3000 square meters. The first floor is the preface hall. In the center is a Bust Statue of Mr. Cao Yu. Mr. Cao Yu is wearing a raincoat and his collar is erect, which seems to bathe in the wind and rain of the world. A pair of intelligent and profound eyes are shining under the lens, looking forward, like insight into the world. Behind the statue is a three-dimensional screen with seven volumes of complete works of Cao Yu arranged in fan-shaped arrangement. On the white marble walls on both sides of the preface hall are engraved with Cao Yu's family history and my famous prose I am from Qianjiang. The two exhibition halls on the second floor display more than 3000 kinds of precious materials and objects such as Mr. Cao Yu's works, manuscripts, photos, calligraphy and paintings, and are divided into three exhibition areas according to the nine parts of creation, performance, management, education, communication, intimate friends, nostalgia, nostalgia and calligraphy and painting exhibition. The whole exhibition line is 473 meters long, which comprehensively and systematically introduces Mr. Cao Yu's life And the influence of Cao Yu's works, which fully demonstrated the humanistic charm of a generation of drama masters

Brief introduction to Cao Yu

Cao Yu is a pioneer of China's new culture movement and one of the founders of Chinese drama. He is a famous drama master and drama educator at home and abroad. Cao Yu had an indissoluble bond with Tianjin all his life. Born in Tianjin in 1910, he was admitted to Nankai Middle School in 1922, and joined Nankai new drama troupe in 1925. At the age of 23, he created the female work thunderstorm, which has established his outstanding position in the history of Chinese drama, and has become a symbol of the maturity of Chinese drama art.
