Baisha River
Baisha River, originated from Tianyi spring of Laoshan Mountain, is the highest water level River in Qingdao, known as "Qingdao Tianhe". The width of the river bed is 50-100m in the upstream, 200m in the middle and 300m in the downstream. From the top of Laoshan Mountain, it pushes away the clouds, passes through the mountains and streams, twists and turns, joins and divides, divides and joins, goes straight to the West foot, crosses the mountains and joins "yuezikou", with flat terrain and wide riverbed, and then flows into Jiaozhou Bay through Huangbu, Liuting, Zhaocun, xihoulou and other villages across Laoshan District and Chengyang District, with a total length of 32 kilometers and a drainage area of 209 square kilometers.

From 2000 to 2004, Chengyang District Water Affairs Bureau, together with Xiazhuang street, managed the 4.7km river course of Baisha River in four phases, built six stone barrages, and completed 1.1687 million cubic meters of works; in 2007, Chengyang District Water Affairs Bureau implemented the rubber dam project of Baisha River railway bridge, built a new pillow type rubber dam at 100m upstream of Baisha River railway bridge, and equipped with large well and filling and drainage pump house In 2008, Chengyang District government implemented the second phase of comprehensive treatment of the lower reaches of the Baisha River and completed the second phase of comprehensive treatment of the lower reaches of the Baisha River Dredging and widening of 688m river course, embankment protection, 1 water retaining rubber dam, 1 waterlogging drainage station, 1 drainage sluice and 10 dike crossing buildings, with the completed work volume of 1.48 million cubic meters
According to incomplete statistics, from 1996 to 2012, the municipal and district governments invested 223 million yuan in harnessing the river course of 16.188 km, built 8 masonry barrages, 6 rubber dams and 2 drainage gates, increased water storage by 4.78 million cubic meters, and completed 4.65 million cubic meters of works. The overall environment and flood control safety of Baisha River have been greatly improved by dredging, widening, supporting dike and building protection.
