In the fifth year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1632), the largest maintenance was carried out since the temple was built. It was also repaired many times in the Qing Dynasty and even in the Republic of China.
Temple block north to south, for a courtyard. It is shorter in North and South and wider in East and West. In front of it is the Shanmen theater, with the pavilion in the middle and the Notre Dame hall in the north. Two with ear hall.
Layout structure
The existing buildings in the East-West courtyard include the palace of King Li Jing, the three palaces, the hall of Yan Jun, the hall of ten Shuai, the hall of Guan Gong, the hall of descendants and the dressing house. The halls are well arranged, with different shapes of the top. In the south, North and west of the temple, there are three overhanging walls, ravines, and the East is connected with the courtyard. There is a strip platform in front of the Shanmen theater. Under the platform are three hole stone kilns with bluestone arches. They are arranged in the south direction. The 67 level bluestone steps are built on a 45 ° slope and can reach the Shanmen directly. The entrance of the mountain gate is made of green brick arch. The overhanging eaves are in the shape of a mansion on the gate and decorated with tubular tiles. It is not only a decorative component, but also a shelter from rain and sun. The entrance of the mountain gate is opened from the open room on the ground floor of the theater building, and the two rooms on the ground floor are closed compartments. The theater has three rooms in width, four rafters in depth and a single eaves at the top of the hill. It was built in the Jingguo period of Jianzhong period in the Northern Song Dynasty. The pavilion is located between the Notre Dame hall and the dance hall. The pavilion was built on a high platform, surrounded by bluestones, and the Ming Dynasty was set up on the East, West and south sides.
The pavilion is three rooms wide and five rooms deep, with the top of the veranda. The pavilion is built in an open way, and all the components such as the beam frame decoration are exposed. Stone columns and round beams are used after cutting the original materials, and still retain the architectural style of the Yuan Dynasty. Pavilion top gray ridge animal, tube board cloth tile decoration. This kind of building on the top of the hall is unique in Shangdang area. Notre Dame hall after the worship Pavilion, high platform building hall, wide and deep each three, plane nearly square, single eaves nine ridge top. The column base is basin type, the lotus petal carving is larger, the side corner of the eaves column rises obviously, the beam frame and the bucket arch are made of huge materials, the bamboo style supports the load of the beam frame, the five plaster head hemp leaf shaped partition fan, and the broken straight edge window decoration, which is very simple and powerful. The top of the hall is covered with glass ridged beasts, with tube plates, cloth tiles and glass trimming, and the folding is gentle. Out of the eaves far-reaching, four wings and fly.
Main relics
Although it was rebuilt in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it still has the architectural style of Song Dynasty.
The dressing building of Dongyuan is located from east to west, with three rooms wide and three rooms deep, four eaves on the second floor, flat seats, wooden railings and fences, doors and windows on four sides, open doors in the Ming Dynasty, straight edge windows in the second, carved beams and painted buildings. Xieshan style roof with double eaves is gorgeous, straight and eye-catching. It is a pavilion style building in Ming Dynasty. The rest of the temples are mostly three rooms, wide in face and in the shape of hanging mountains, belonging to the relics of the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. There are more than 20 steles rebuilt in song, yuan, Ming, Qing and Republic of China, most of which are erected in the worship Pavilion. Most of the inscriptions record the historical evolution and major issues of the creation, addition and reconstruction of the temple. It is worth paying attention to that the buildings of song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties are integrated in one temple, and there are few existing ancient buildings in China, which are really precious. Second, it is recorded in the rebuilt stele in the first year of Jianzhong Jingguo (1101) in the Northern Song Dynasty that the dance building was built while the Virgin Mary hall was rebuilt in the Song Dynasty. This shows that in the Song Dynasty, drama art and dance art have developed to a certain extent, and combined with the development of religious culture, mutual dependence and common development.
The inscriptions recording the stage of drama are very rare in our province and in China. At present, in addition to the records of the Guandi temple in Qinxian county built a stage in the Song Dynasty, there is the goddess Temple of nine days in Pingshun. Third, it is rare for the pavilion to be used as the top of the veranda, which is a super scale design and arrangement.
