Wen Tianxiang Memorial

Wen Tianxiang memorial hall is the largest Memorial Hall of historical celebrities in Jiangxi Province. It is located in the east of Ji'an County, at the intersection of national highway 105 and Jijing highway. It is only 12 kilometers away from Ji'an station of Beijing Kowloon Railway, and more than 20 kilometers away from Jinggangshan station and Jinggangshan airport. The traffic is very convenient. Built in 1984, the memorial hall was officially opened to tourists on January 9, 1992 (the 709th anniversary of Wen Tianxiang's death).

Profile

Wen Tianxiang (1236-1283) was born in Luling (now Ji'an) of Southern Song Dynasty.

At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, the imperial court was partial to the south of the Yangtze River, and the country was weak. In 1271, the northern Mongols ended the internal fighting for the throne, established the Yuan Dynasty, and then directed their aggression against the Southern Song Dynasty. Wen Tianxiang is a great national hero who appeared in this situation to fight against aggression.

On February 9, 1276, Wen Tianxiang was escorted to Dadu (today's Beijing) to Jingkou (today's Zhenjiang). With the help of righteous scholars, he escaped from hukou.

On January 9, 1283, Wen Tianxiang died bravely in chaishikou, Dadu. After his death, he left a large number of poems and essays, such as "who has never died since ancient times in his life" in "crossing the ocean", the "song of righteousness" written in prison and the "imperial edict of clothing belt" found in his belt after his death (Kong said "Chengren", Meng said "Yiyi", but its meaning is exhausted, so Renzhi, what do you learn when you read the books of sages? Now and then, they have become the unique songs of the sun and the moon, and the precious part of the national spiritual wealth. Therefore, Wen Tianxiang became an immortal national hero.

Overview of the exhibition hall

Wen Tianxiang Memorial covers an area of 8 hectares. The main building is a group of axially symmetric antique buildings. With five exhibition rooms and a 120 meter exhibition line, Wen Tianxiang memorial hall is divided into six parts to introduce the life and career of the national hero Wen Tianxiang through literature and cultural relics, charts, sculptures, inscriptions and restoration of real scenes.

Wen Tianxiang memorial hall is a group of imitative Song Dynasty buildings, which straddle the lush hills of pine and bamboo, and the former Jianchang Jiangxi highway. According to the shape, it has an extraordinary style. Enter the tall and exquisite archway, cross the Jian'an bridge, and climb the 47 stone steps, which is the magnificent Wenxin palace. This hall is a two-story pavilion with red columns, yellow tiles and cornices. In the center of the ground floor is a statue of Wen Tianxiang. The museum is a quadrangle structure, with a patio in the middle and long corridors connecting Wenshan Pavilion, Sixian temple, Zhuju, Zhuangyuan building and Shibei building. The museum displays Wen Tianxiang's life, relics, handwriting and works, as well as the calligraphy and painting works of today's celebrities. Wen Tianxiang's tomb is located in Futian Township, Ji'an County, about 50 kilometers away from Ji'an city. It was built in 1284. In 1982 and 1983, the monument was repaired and erected by the government twice.

The whole building is divided into two parts: the sightseeing area and the exhibition area of Wen Tianxiang's life. It adopts the palace layout of central axis symmetry, and gradually rises from south to north to form an antique building complex. The main building is Zhengqi hall, facing south, with red walls and yellow tiles. Surrounded by trees, flowers and clear water, the scenery changes step by step. Starting from the mountain gate, we enter the exhibition area of Wen Tianxiang's life through Lin'an bridge and 99 steps. Wen Tianxiang's life exhibition area is composed of Zhengqi hall, west chamber, west chamber, Shiping, East chamber and East chamber, forming a quadrangle, which is divided into five exhibition halls and six parts. Through the actual layout of cultural relics, literature, pictures, paintings, sculptures, inscriptions and wax statues, it artistically shows Wen Tianxiang's glorious life.

The memorial hall is located in the north and south of the mountain, taking the form of Chinese palace architecture. It is composed of a group of axially symmetrical antique buildings, including Mountain Gate, stone arch bridge, stone steps, platform, main hall, wing room, original room, audio-visual education hall, VIP lounge, inner garden, etc. The whole Memorial Hall and park covers an area of 480 mu. The memorial hall displays Wen Tianxiang's life story, relics, handwriting, works, inscriptions and so on. It can be said that Wen Tianxiang's historical relics are gathered together, and his national integrity and patriotism spirit are deeply moving and will never be forgotten.

Wen Tianxiang memorial hall is one of the first ten historical celebrities memorial halls built in Jiangxi Province. In 1995, it was named as the patriotic education base of Jiangxi Province by the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and the provincial people's government; in 1996, it was named as one hundred patriotic education bases for Chinese primary and secondary schools by the State Education Commission, the Ministry of culture, the Ministry of civil affairs, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the State Administration of cultural relics and the General Political Department of the liberation army. The memorial hall covers an area of more than 120 mu, with a total construction area of 2200m2. The main building is a group of axially symmetrical antique buildings. Zhengqi hall is tall and magnificent, with double eaves and corners. It is connected with the East and West Wing rooms, verandahs and poetry steles, forming a large quadrangle. The courtyard is well arranged with green trees, hedges and grass, which are reflected by the yellow tiles, red walls and stone railings of the house. The environment is particularly elegant with the fragrance of flowers, the accompaniment of songbirds and the ancient music. The memorial hall is divided into five exhibition halls and six parts. It artistically displays Wen Tianxiang's glorious life through the real scene layout of cultural relics, documents, pictures, images, paintings, charts, sculptures, inscriptions and wax. Since its opening, the museum has received more than 1.2 million tourists.

The total construction area is 1398 square meters. The square is 465 square meters. The whole building is divided into four exhibition halls: main building, Zhengqi hall and supporting building. All of them are antique buildings with brick concrete structure. Zhengqi hall is located in the north facing south, with red walls and yellow tiles, double eaves, caisson ceiling, lattice window sash, carved beams and painted buildings, bucket arches, 99 steps near the door, and evergreen pines and cypresses around.

Zhengqi hall is a prelude hall with a statue of Wen Tianxiang, 6.4 meters high and majestic. Eight large murals are embedded in the four walls, depicting Wen Tianxiang's life and achievements. There is a whole model plate in the preface hall to guide visitors to visit. There are four exhibition halls, which are divided into East and West halls. The west chamber is the calligraphy and painting collection hall and the exhibition hall of Wen Tianxiang's life story. Surrounded by pavilions, there is a central garden in the hall. Wen Tianxiang's life and deeds are displayed in six parts: 1. He is determined to serve the country; 2. He is concerned about the country and the people; 3. He is willing to serve the king and help the country; 4. He is a prisoner of thousands of miles and elegies generously; 5. He is a great poet who praises his heart and writes history; 6. He is a model of all ages. There are now 307 exhibits on display. Among them, there are 4 sculptures, 103 calligraphy and painting works, 7 rubbings, 155 photos and charts, and 38 documents and cultural relics. In addition, there is a research literature archive of Wen Tianxiang to collect research materials and calligraphy and painting treasures of celebrities. Wen Tianxiang Memorial officially opened on January 9, 1992, with an average annual reception of 55000 visitors.

Wenshan Park

Wenshan Park, with the memorial hall as the main body, covers an area of 200 mu. The forehead was inscribed by Shu Tong, a famous calligrapher. Across the gate of the garden, a 6.4-meter-high, white vertical sculpture of Wen Tianxiang is reflected in the eye. On both sides are qulan green cypresses. Along the stone arch bridge up 99 steps, to an area of 465 square meters of square. The magnificent Zhengqi hall stands between the green pines, with white bars and red corridors, carved beams and painted buildings, yellow tiles and green ridges. Looking up at the double eaves, Sha Menghai, a great calligrapher in calligraphy, has four big characters of "righteousness and glory" in gold. On the door of the hall, the famous scholar and great calligrapher Qigong inscribed the "Wen Tianxiang Memorial Hall", which has a strong name. The couplets are the verses of Wen Tianxiang written in Mao Zedong's handwriting: "who has never died since ancient times, who has left his heart to shine on history".

Tomb of Wen Tianxiang

Wen Tianxiang's tomb (1236-1283): it is located in Huxing mountain, Dakeng, Jian County, Jiangxi Province. In 1284, the tomb was built and repaired in 1488. In the ninth year of Yongzheng (1731) of the Qing Dynasty, it was ordered to be rebuilt. In November 1983, the provincial and county governments allocated funds for reconstruction. In front of the tomb, there are two layers of 106 steps with red stripes. The height of the tomb is 1.4 meters. A new stele with Wen Tianxiang's profile is erected at the foot of the tomb. In 1987, it was listed as a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level and included in the dictionary of Chinese places of interest.
