Tang Monk's Sutra platform
Tongtian River flows from northwest to Southeast in Yushu grassland, traversing nearly a thousand kilometers, feeding all things in Yushu grassland.
brief introduction
Tang Monk's Buddhist name Xuanzang is a famous eminent monk in Tang Dynasty. The legendary Tang Monk's Sutra platform is a rock on the Bank of Tongtian River, about 30 kilometers away from Jiegu Town, Yushu county. The surface of the stone is as black as ink, and there seems to be some faint handwriting on it.
story
It is said that the four monks and disciples of the Tang Dynasty were blocked by the turbulent and boundless Tongtian River when they arrived at Yushu. At this time, the thousand year old turtle at the bottom of the river came out of the river, carried the Tang Monk and his disciples, and asked the Tang monk to ask the Buddha how many years he had left. When he arrived in India, a Buddhist country in the west, the Tang Monk worshipped the Buddha devoutly and absorbed himself in learning Buddhist scriptures. A few years later, the four of them came back from the Scriptures. The old turtle helped them cross the Tianhe river again. When he reached the middle of the river, the old tortoise suddenly asked what he was entrusted with, but the Tang monk said nothing. The old tortoise knew that the Tang Monk had never taken the place of the gate. In a fit of anger, he shook his body and threw the four disciples on his back into the river with their horses and sutras. All the Scriptures were soaked, so the four masters and disciples were drying the scriptures on the big rock on the bank. When the Scriptures were dried and put away, they accidentally stained and broke the end of the Buddhist scriptures. Therefore, in the vast Buddhist scriptures, only the Buddhist scriptures are incomplete, but the handwriting on the big rock still exists. Later generations called this rock "Sutra drying platform". Local people hung prayer banners above the Sutra drying platform to honor the holy mark. The beautiful legend of shaijingtai was written into the Chinese classic journey to the west by the great writer Wu Chengen, which was praised by later generations.
