[Li Jiafen] Li Yumei (1778-1840) successively held the posts of county magistrate, prefecture magistrate, prefect, procurator, and governor. When he was the governor of the Donghe River in Henan Province, he created the method of throwing bricks to build the dam, which became an effective engineering technology for river control and flood control at that time and an important contribution to the water conservancy in ancient China. After that, he became ill and died in office. Emperor Daoguang ordered the construction of tombs. Covering an area of 8000 square meters, the tomb mound, imperial stele, memorial archway, stone bridge, tomb table, stone statue, table, etc. are all exquisitely carved with white marble. The epitaph was written by Peng bangchou, the academician of Hanlin, Qi Junzao, Shudan, the Minister of Hubu, and Ruan Yuan, the famous scholar. All three of them were important officials. There are 10 statues in 5 groups, which are arranged on both sides of the tomb path. The gentle sheep, the fierce tiger, the docile horse, the majestic military general, and the courteous courtiers have different moods. A pair of white stone lions in front of the gate of the original hall are ready to jump. The stone statue has a white jade stele in Han Dynasty. The stele is written by Xu Han. It has strong handwriting, square structure, proper density, well-balanced stippling, regular script and elegant appearance. The base of the tablet is designed with lotus, plum and peony, which has a deep meaning and is thought-provoking. ?
