In 1999, nearly 300 varieties of rose were introduced from Beijing, including variety rose, Mini Rose, Fujimoto rose and Fenghua rose. All kinds of perennial flowers have been introduced into the botanical garden. Among them, Hemerocallis fulva, Iris germanica, chrysanthemum and other perennial flowers have been widely used in the landscaping of Urumqi city and achieved good economic benefits. In 1996, more than 200 chrysanthemum varieties were introduced from Beijing Botanical Garden. From 1997 to 2005, the botanical garden held a golden autumn chrysanthemum exhibition from September to October every year. It has successfully held the Ninth "Chrysanthemum Exhibition". Every autumn, people come to the botanical garden to enjoy chrysanthemum has become an important leisure tour project.
