Huang tingguan and Wei Huacun
Huangting temple is very famous in Taoism. The main reason is that in the ninth year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (334 A.D.), the famous female Taoist lady Nanyue Wei rose to immortality in the ritual arena. Wei Fu's name is Huacun, and his name is Xian'an. He was born in Rencheng, Shandong Province, and was the daughter of Wei Shu, the Duke of Kang in Yangwen, a situ drama in the Eastern Jin Dynasty. When he was young, he was familiar with "the book of Zhuang Lao" and "the art of seeking immortals" and vowed not to marry. Later, under the duress of his parents, he married Nanyang Liu Youyan at the age of 24 and gave birth to a second son, who was named Pu in the first place and Xia in the second place. According to the biography of Mrs. Wei of Nanyue recorded in the annals of Nanyue, after marriage, Mrs. Hua Cun often "goes to bed at leisure and does not go out for a hundred days" to chant scriptures and practice Taoism every day. It is said that due to her sincerity, four immortals came to her home on the same day, and granted her "taishangbaowen", "basuyinshu" 31 volumes and "huangtingjing". After she got the Scriptures, she read them day and night and devoted herself to practice. After her husband died, the world was in chaos, and she took her two sons to the south of the Yangtze River. Later, he separated from his two sons, and came to Nanyue with his maid Magu in the Daxing period of Jin Dynasty. He lived in a cottage under Jixian peak and meditated. This is the reason of Huang Ting's view.
During her 16 years of practice, it is said that the queen mother of the West invited her to eat linggua together on Zhuling mountain. She also received four volumes of the book of Yu Qingyin, which was given by the queen mother of the West. "She was 80 years old and still looked like a girl.". When she was eighty-three years old, that is, in the ninth year of Xianhe (334 AD), Emperor Cheng of Jin Dynasty, she closed her eyes and slept, drinking instead of eating. "Seven days later, one night, the queen mother of the West sent all the immortals to welcome her to heaven. Legend has it that on the first day of ascension, a group of immortals came to the "ritual battle altar" in front of the temple to greet each other.
This is what Du Fu said in his poem Wangyue: "reverence to Mrs. Wei, flying among the immortals.". After Wei Hua was promoted, he was granted the title of Zixu Yuanjun by the emperor, and was given the title of "Lady Nanyue". Together with the queen mother of the west, he managed the immortal caves in Tiantai Mountain, Goushan mountain, Wangwu mountain, Dahuo mountain and Hengshan Mountain. It is said that after Mrs. Wei ascended to heaven, there were many people in Huangting Temple who went on to become immortals. First of all, her maid Magu was also included in the Tianting immortal class, while her disciple nuyi became the goddess of flowers and took charge of the world's famous flowers. Because of these myths and legends, Huangting temple has become a magical place in the history of Nanyue Taoism.
Monasticism
Chinese women began to practice Taoism from Mrs. Wei, and Huangting Temple set a precedent for Chinese women Taoist practice, so Mrs. Wei and Huangting temple have a high reputation in Taoism. Guanyu covers an area of more than one mu, with three entrances. The first entrance is the rest Pavilion. There are stone inscriptions on the forehead of the main entrance: "the mountain is not high" and "immortal Temple" on the forehead of the South Pavilion. The second entrance is to pass the hall, and the door is engraved with the word "huangtingguan". The couplet is: "Huang Zhongtong becomes Kunde; he rises to immortals outside the court and remembers the time of Jin Dynasty.". The three entrances are the main hall. Now there are no gods. There are 17 stone steps in front of the hall, with overlapping houses and towering ancient trees. On the right side of guanwai, there is a stone about ten feet square. It is said that it is the place where Mrs. Wei rose in the daytime. It used to be the ritual altar where Mrs. Wei worshiped heaven. Later, people called it flying stone, with three big characters "flying immortal stone" engraved on it. The top of the stone is as flat as a platform, and the bottom is sharp, but it stands firmly on the rock. It is said that if a person does not mean to touch it with his fingers, it will shake slightly; if Hu Yi pushes it, people will push it together, but they will not move. Legend has it that the queen mother came here by the cloud, and a white cloud fell down. Around the view, there are grotesque rocks and dense pines and maples; before the view, there is a flat field with crisscross fields. Half a mile away, there is a pool with water waves exciting rocks and sound passing through empty valleys. This is Bailongtan; at the foot of the mountain, there is Longtan Reservoir with clear water. In the eyes of the day, and white clouds in the sky, it presents the same color of water day scene.
