God's Palace
God palace, located in Anren village, Xinglong Town, is one of the three remaining Ming Dynasty ancient buildings in Mianzhu City. It was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit in Mianzhu in 1985. Changjiang xukui of Mianzhu ancient culture inheritance Research Association believes that god palace is the oldest and unique religious temple in China.
History of cultural relics
God palace is a temple of Ming Dynasty with clear historical records. Looking up historical materials, there is no religious temple with a longer history than Mianzhu god palace, so it is unique in the whole country. The reason why God's palace was built in Mianzhu is related to Liu Yuliang, an important historical figure in Mianzhu. According to the records of Mianzhu County, god palace was built with the donation of Liu Yuliang, the Prime Minister of Ming Dynasty. "In 1641, when Liu Yuliang, a native of Mianzhu, was a member of Tianguan, the Ministry of official affairs, and a scholar of Dongge University in Beijing, he invited Italian Catholic priests lenes and anwensi to preach in Tianguan (the mansion of Liu Yuliang's hometown of Mianzhu). At that time, more than 30 people were baptized, and some people from neighboring counties also attended. God palace was also built in 1641 and became the earliest religious temple to worship God in mianzhupo.
Appreciation of cultural relics
According to on-site inspection, there are also written records of Liu Yuliang's donation and calligraphy of Ming and Qing officials and scholars. In 1641, Liu Yuliang specially invited lenes, anwensi and other Tianguan officials in Mianzhu to give lectures.
