Sandimen Township
Sandimen township is located in the north end of Pingtung County, Taiwan Province, adjacent to Maolin District of Kaohsiung City in the north, Wutai Township in the East, gaoshu Township in the west, Neipu Township and Ma Township in the south. The township is located at the junction of mountains and plains, mostly hilly terrain, with an altitude of 100-2159 meters. There is an ailiao river flowing through the township, with a tropical monsoon climate. In recent years, Paiwan People, the indigenous people in Taiwan, have become a popular tourist attraction and have been included in Maolin scenic spot.

geographical position
It is adjacent to Ma Township and Neipu Township in the south, gaoshu Township in the west, Wutai Township in the East and Maolin District in Kaohsiung City in the north, with a total area of 196.3965 square kilometers. The plain terrain in the township accounts for less than 50%, most of which are hilly terrain, with an altitude of about 100 meters to 2159 meters. There is an ailiao river flowing through the territory, which is a famous tourist attraction in Taiwan with the characteristics of Paiwan nationality. There are three places, Dalai, Devon, Dashe, Baojia, koushe, ma'er, Anpo, Qingshan, Qingye and other villages, which have been included in Maolin National scenic spot.
Historical evolution
The Paiwan Aboriginal people in the past were called "Yin Si Di Mo Er" in Paiwan language, but they were called "Shan Zhu Mao" in Qing Dynasty when the Han people moved to the north for reclamation. After the Sino Japanese War of 1895, the Japanese began to gradually reclaim the area. In 1935, Japan moved the residents of Timor, talavatsal and salalau to today's sandimen, and planned them as Qipan Street settlements Pingtung County, Kaohsiung Prefecture, is under the jurisdiction of "shanshimen"; in 1945, after the restoration of Taiwan in the Second World War, it was changed to "sandimeng township" in Kaohsiung County in the early days, and changed its name to "sandimeng township" in 1947. In 1950, the national government adjusted the administrative region of Taiwan, and changed the name of "sandimen township" to Pingtung County. It was not officially changed to "sandimen" until August 1992, and has become a township with Aboriginal cultural characteristics.
