The former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang party wrote an inscription for the museum, and CCTV's "face to face" made an exception to create three programs here. Received more than 50 American veterans who participated in the Anti Japanese war in Yunnan and Burma. It has a wide influence in the whole country.
Development history
The Anti Japanese war between Yunnan and Myanmar is an important part of the world anti fascist war. It is a battlefield for the Chinese expeditionary army, the Chinese Army stationed in India and the Allied forces of the United States and Britain to annihilate the Japanese aggressors. It is the first time for the Chinese people to drive the aggressors out of the country in modern history.
From February 1942 to January 1945, a patriotic war of resistance against Japan broke out in Baoshan, Lincang, Dehong and Nujiang areas of the southwest frontier of China, which aimed at defending the international passage between Yunnan and Myanmar and safeguarding the national territorial sovereignty. This is the world-famous war of resistance against Japan in western Yunnan. It was the first strategic counterattack against the Japanese aggressors in the 8-year Anti Japanese war in China. At the same time, it was also one of the turning battles in the Asian Anti Japanese battlefield from defeat to victory in the Second World War. The victory of this war completely smashed the Japanese dream of carrying out East-West assault on China and finally dominating the Asia Pacific region. In this decisive battle of great importance, the Chinese expeditionary army, the United States allies, the patriotic overseas Chinese and the people of all ethnic groups in western Yunnan United as one and composed an epic of patriotism and internationalism at the cost of more than 200000 casualties.
Baoshan, as the main battlefield of the Anti Japanese war in western Yunnan, the local municipal Party committee and government took the opportunity to build a "cultural tour of World War II" meticulously. The main scenic spots are the ruins of the Songshan battle in Longling, the Museum of the Anti Japanese war in western Yunnan in Tengchong, and the national war cemetery in Tengchong. In addition, Baoshan is striving for support from all sides, strengthening cooperation with Burma and India, and striving to open the tourist route of Baoshan, Burma Myitkyina India Lei do, which is also the famous Stillwell road. In this land once full of flames, tourists at home and abroad can not only experience the World War II culture, but also experience "China's ecological spa paradise Tour", "Gaoligong Mountain Ecological Tour" and "Southern Silk Road Tour".
This is the first museum of Anti Japanese war in China with private investment and collection. The museum is invested and constructed by Bailian Group. The exhibits are more than 3500 World War II cultural relics collected and preserved by Mr. Duan Shengkui for more than 20 years, including the cultural relics of the Chinese expeditionary army, the Chinese army in India, the United States and Britain allied forces, and the people's Anti Japanese war. The museum is located in the well preserved site of the former headquarters of the 20th group army of the Chinese expeditionary army.
Through the badge
One side is the lovely HELLO KITTY CAT, and the other side is the display cabinet of the Anti Japanese War Museum. These two things, which are different from each other, now have a happy intersection in the Yunnan Myanmar Anti Japanese War Museum in Heshun ancient town of Tengchong.
During the National Day holiday, Mr. Yang and his friends drove to Tengchong to visit the Yunnan Myanmar Anti Japanese War Museum in the ancient town of Heshun. A hexagon badge marked "U.S. Army Stilwell road guard" in the display cabinet attracted his attention. At first glance, this badge is not unique, but after careful consideration, we find that the situation is not right. The pattern in the center of the badge is actually a cartoon image from Japan - "Hello Kitty Cat" wearing a bow.
A friend of Mr. Yang's is a military enthusiast, who has a certain research on the badge. After seeing this "Hello Kitty" badge, he said with certainty: "this is bullshit. Where did Hello Kitty come from at that time?" Mr. Yang believes that as a museum commemorating the history of the Anti Japanese War, such mistakes should not be made. "Even if we can't find the badge at that time, we shouldn't fool tourists with a cartoon. It's not serious!"
According to public information, Hello Kitty was designed by the designer Yushu Qingshui in 1974. The Stilwell Road, built by the Chinese army after the victory of the counter offensive in western Yunnan and northern Myanmar in 1944, is a road from redo, northeast India, to Kunming, Yunnan, China. It transported more than 50000 tons of urgently needed materials for China's Anti Japanese battlefield in a hail of bullets. It is known as the "Anti Japanese lifeline", named after Stilwell, the military chief of staff stationed by the United States in the Chinese national government at that time.
After many inquiries, the reporter failed to find out the information about the Stilwell road guard team. According to the historical records of Stilwell Road, in 1943, the 1880 Engineering Battalion of the U.S. aid command to China reconstructed the "24 turns" of Stilwell Road, that is to say, if there was a road guard team during this period, it was most likely to use this badge. However, Hello Kitty was born in 1974, 30 years behind Stilwell road.
The Yunnan Myanmar Anti Japanese War Museum, which displays this badge, was founded on July 7, 2005. It is located at the former site of the headquarters of the 20th group army of the Chinese expeditionary army, which was later the seat of Heshun town government. It is the first Anti Japanese War Museum in China with private investment and collection. It has nearly 5000 pieces of cultural relics from the Chinese expeditionary army, the Chinese army in India, the United States and Britain allied forces, and the people's Anti Japanese war during World War II.
The reporter tried to contact the museum about the Hello Kitty badge. Through the local 114 inquiry to the Yunnan Myanmar Anti Japanese War Museum phone, but dial a whole day, the phone has never been answered. The origin of this "crossing" badge is unknown for the time being.
