Jinyun Temple
Jinyun temple is located in Beibei, Chongqing. It is located in Jinyun Mountain, a Buddhist resort with a history of more than 1500 years. It was built in 423, the first year of Jingping in the Southern Dynasty. Later it was called "Xiangsi Temple", "Chongsheng Temple" and "chongjiao Temple", and was granted by emperors of all dynasties. Jinyun temple is the only ancient Buddhist temple in China. It has been running a school since ancient times and is called "Jinyun academy".

Jinyun Temple
It was built in 423, the first year of Jingping in the Southern Dynasty, and was granted by emperors of all dynasties. Li Yuan, Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty (618), once personally inscribed the title of "Chan Zhen Palace". In the first year of Tang Dazhong (847), Emperor Xuanzong granted the temple the title of "Acacia Temple", which is the reason that there are Acacia rock, Acacia bamboo and Acacia bird in the mountain. In the first year of Tang Qianfu (874), monk Dingji rebuilt the temple. In 971, Zen master Huihuan presided over the repair of the temple. In 998, song Zhenzong sent 240 volumes of Sanskrit scriptures read by Song Taizong to the temple. In the fourth year of Jingde in Song Dynasty, Zhenzong gave it the name of "Chongsheng Temple". In the fifth year of Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty, Emperor Chengzu issued an edict of "Jinyun Shengjing". In the first year of Shun reign (1462), Emperor Yingzong gave it the name of "chongjiao Temple". In the thirtieth year of Wanli reign, Emperor Shenzong ordered it to be changed into Jinyun Temple and granted it the title of "JIAYE Daochang".
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, the temple was destroyed by fire. It is said that the monks in the temple were rampant around the neighborhood at that time, and the local people hated it deeply. When Zhang Xianzhong entered Sichuan, they gathered people to go up the mountain to burn the temple. The existing temple was restored by the monk pokong in 1683.
Jinyun Academy
Jinyun temple has been running a school since ancient times and is called "Jinyun academy". In the autumn of 1930, Master Taixu (1889-1947), who was the head of the world Buddhist Academy, the president of the Chinese Buddhist society, and the director of the Chinese Buddhist collation Committee, traveled to Sichuan. He learned that Liu Xiang of Sichuan had the intention of "sending Han people to Tibet". He proposed to establish a Han Tibetan academy to study the Han Tibetan doctrines, harmonize the Chinese nation, carry forward the Han Tibetan Buddhism, and enhance the world cultural exchanges, which was well received With the strong support of well-known people in military, political and financial circles in Chongqing, Jinyun temple was selected as the site of the school. Liu Wenhui, Taixu and he beiheng were selected as honorary president, President and hospital nurse, and the board of directors of the Han Tibetan Academy of education was formed.
The school has been running for 20 years. It is known as one of the four branches of the world Buddhist Academy. It has trained a large number of Buddhist talents. At that time, students are all over the world. Mr. Zhao Puchu graduated from the school.
Kaya Dojo
Jinyun temple is the only Buddhist temple in China, so the statue of Buddha in the hall is not Sakyamuni Buddha, but Sakyamuni Buddha's teacher in the past. The ancient Buddha in the hall, standing in the 22nd year of Kangxi reign, is about two meters high. On the left is the great Brahma, representing the Dharma phase of the desire world, and on the right is the emperor Shitian, representing the Dharma phase of the color world. They are all statues of the Qing Dynasty. The plaque on it was also made in the Qing Dynasty, with the inscription "Epiphyllum Ai Rui".
Gayeh Buddha, also known as gayeh Buddha, gayeh Buddha, gayeh Buddha. Drink light Buddha. Sanskrit Kasyapa, which means drinking light, is also translated as gyabo Buddha, gyabo Buddha and gyabo Buddha. It is also translated as Yinguang Buddha, which is the sixth of the seven Buddhas in the past and the third among the thousands of Buddhas now. His first disciples were tisher and Brahma. He was the Buddha before Shizun, who predicted that Sakyamuni would become a Buddha in the future. According to a large volume of scriptures written by ahan, the chief, the Kaya Buddha was born in the middle of the Yin Dynasty, and at that time he had 20000 disciples. His surname is JIAYE. He became a Buddha under the banigrodha tree. He has 20000 disciples. He takes tissa and BHA ^ radva ^ JA as his high feet. The disciple of the Deacon is named sabbamitta. The father's name is Brahmadatta and the mother's name is dhanavati ^. There is a son named Jijun. At that time, the king's name was Ba Kiki, and the city he ruled was Ba ^ ran! ASI ^, Batong. Another four parts of the law of bhikkhu, which is written in the Buddhist scriptures, are: "do not do any evil, but pursue all good things; self purification is Buddhism." It is the Sutra of precepts as mentioned by the Buddha.
Temple attractions
Shi Zhaobi
In front of Jinyun temple, there is a stone wall. It is a blue stone relief, 4.0 meters high and 4.0 meters wide. Experts have identified it as a cultural relic of the late Tang Dynasty. In the middle of the stone wall is a picture of plantain Kirin (also known as "pig dragon relief"), with water chestnut patterns on the left and right, and blue lion and white elephant relief below. In 1984, a pavilion was built outside shizhaobi to protect it from wind and rain.
The stone archway
On the stone screen wall and in front of the gate of Jinyun temple, there is a towering stone archway. The Ming Dynasty stone archway is 6 meters high and 5 meters wide, made of bluestone. It is decorated with birds and animals, and decorated with relief blue stone on the top. On the front of the square, there are two words of "imperial edict" on the upper level, which is inscribed as "October 29, the second year of the Ming Dynasty"; on the lower level is a four character plaque of "JIAYE Daochang", which is written by Zhu Yijun, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty in 1602.
On the back of the archway, the word "Chiyu" is embedded in the upper layer, and the word "Jinyun Shengjing" is embedded in the lower layer, which was written by Zhu Di, Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty in 1407. The inscriptions on the square are vigorous and heroic. In front of the square, there is a pair of stone green lions, 1.70 meters high, standing on both sides.
Temple appearance and treasure
The main buildings of Jinyun temple are Tianwang hall and JIAYE hall. There are 24 Buddhist scriptures read by Emperor Taizong of Song Dynasty in the temple. In addition, a half body statue of the king of heaven is unearthed, which is said to be a work of Liang Dynasty or Northern Zhou Dynasty.
There is also a large iron bell in the temple, which is about 1.60 meters high, 1.50 meters in diameter at the bottom and 0.9 meters in diameter at the waist. It was cast in 1822. Outside the gate of the mountain, two towering gingko trees head straight to the sky. The ancient temple bells and the pines in the mountains reflect each other. The double cypress house in the temple is the Abbot's living room, with Buddhist temples and stone carvings on both sides, forming an antique flavor. Outside the temple, there are also inscriptions on the hanzang Academy of education in the world Buddhist Academy, one pagoda for Master Taixu and one pagoda for master Zhengguo, with inscriptions written by Zhao Puchu and Deng Yingchao.
Bajiaojing
In the northwest of the main hall of JIAYE, there is an octagonal well, which is carved out of stone. It is more than 10 meters deep. The water in the pool is clear and green, and does not dry up all the year round. Feng Shixing, the number one scholar in Song Dynasty, often went to wash ink in the pool when he was studying here, so he called it "wash ink pool".
Jinyun temple, Wenquan temple, Shaolong temple, baiyun temple, Shihua temple, Fuxing temple and Dayin temple are all Buddhist temples, which are also called "Eight Temples of Jinyun Mountain". Standing next to Jinyun temple and looking up, you can see the high observation building on the censer peak of Jinyun Mountain through many temples and verdant trees. You can see that the thousand year old temple and ludai Qingshan are in contrast. It is really worthy of "Buddhist holy land".

Jiefangbei, Nanping and Yangjiaping all take buses to Beibei. When you get to Beibei, you can transfer to the tourist bus from the underground shopping mall station to Jinyun Mountain. The bus starts every hour from 8:30 to 17:30, and the return bus takes at the gate of Jinyun Mountain.
