brief introduction
Haifeng martyrs cemetery is located in goudushan, the western suburb of Haifeng County, Shanwei City, covering an area of 110000 square meters. The main entrance of the cemetery is a double eaves archway style antique building, covered with golden glazed tiles, with marble and brocade brick wall structure, which is magnificent. There are four gold-plated characters "martyr's cemetery" on the horizontal plaque of the memorial archway, written by Ye Xuanping, governor of Guangdong Province, with strong strokes and rigorous structure. The cemetery square is 100 meters in front of the main gate. Behind the main entrance is the corridor, on both sides of which are planted pines, cypresses and various flowers, as well as two small lotus pools, which are solemn and beautiful. The tombstone is 7.5 meters high, 1.5 meters wide and 0.9 meters thick. It is engraved with five characters "revolutionary martyr's tomb" with a diameter of 85x50 (CM), which is written by Tao Zhu.
Behind the tombstone is a 544 square meter tomb. The main body of the tomb is an arched circular building, in which are placed the bones and ashes of more than 200 revolutionary martyrs, such as Lin Tieshi, Yang Wang, Lin Su, Huang Xinggan, who died in the previous revolutionary struggles. Haifeng County is one of the 13 red bases in China. It is a famous old Soviet Area, known as "little Moscow". Proletarian revolutionaries Zhou Enlai, Peng Pai, Xiao Chunv, Xu Qianqian, Nie Rongzhen, Zhang Shanming, Dong Lang, Wu Zhenmin and Cheng Zihua all sowed revolutionary seeds here. Under the leadership of Peng Pai, after three armed uprisings in 1927, the Soviet government of Haifeng County, the first industrial and agricultural revolutionary regime in China, was established. After the failure of the great revolution, the Haifeng people, under the leadership of the party, continued to carry out long-term guerrilla struggle and made great contributions to the cause of people's liberation. A total of more than 30000 outstanding sons and daughters of Haifeng and more than 1000 Red Army and other revolutionaries from all over the country gave their precious lives without privacy. The martyrs who laid bones and ashes in this mausoleum are only a small part of them. In addition, there are also tombs of Shagang revolutionary martyrs, Ketang revolutionary martyrs, huangqiang revolutionary martyrs, anti Japanese cooperative Army soldiers and revolutionary martyrs of the liberation war in Meilong town in Haifeng County.
