Jiushi Bridge
Jiushi bridge is located in Hefei. Many years ago, there was a simple wooden bridge on Jiushi River, which was washed down by flood and never built again. During the period of the Republic of China, there was no bridge on the river. When the water rose a little, it was very inconvenient for people to go to the other side of the river after they entered the city.
At that time, a businessman surnamed Dai came back from other places to celebrate his mother's birthday. Because his mother believed in Buddhism, he didn't treat his family and friends to dinner as usual. Instead, he cancelled all the celebrations and used the money to build a stone bridge on the Jiushi river opposite the Mingjiao Temple, which is the Jiushi bridge.
