China National Library
The National Library of China is a national professional center library for nationalities. It was built and opened in September 1959. It was originally the library of the palace of national culture. In April 1989, with the approval of the National Affairs Commission of the people's Republic of China and the Ministry of culture, it was renamed the library of Chinese nationalities. China National Library is located in the garden style courtyard of Beijing National Culture Palace, with an area of 2700 square meters, nearly 100 reading seats and a rare closed Library in China. It has a collection of more than 500000 books, mainly in Chinese and ethnic literature, supplemented by foreign literature. There are more than 170000 ancient books in ethnic languages, many of which are special documents and orphans. There are 24 kinds of national documents in Mongolia, Tibet, Uygur, Kazak and Korea, and 14 kinds of foreign documents in Britain, Russia, Japan and Germany.

At present, there are five departments: acquisition and Cataloguing Department, reading and collection department, research and development department, special collection department of ancient books, digital resources and network technology department. There are 34 staff members from 10 ethnic groups, including Han, Mongolian, Hui, Tibetan, Uygur, Miao, Yi, Korean, Manchu and Shui.

For many years, China National Library is famous for its rich collection and unique national characteristics. It has a collection of 600000 books, mainly in Chinese and minority languages, supplemented by foreign languages. There are 24 kinds of national documents, including Mongolian, Tibetan, Uighur, Kazak, Korean, Yi and Zhuang, and 14 kinds of foreign languages, including English, Russian, Japanese and German. There are nearly 100000 volumes (pieces) of ancient books in ethnic languages, many of which are rare and unique. There are many rare scripts, engravings, rubbings and maps of various nationalities at home and abroad, as well as rare authentic works and Bodhi leaf scripts. There are a large number of local chronicles, historical records, national chronicles, chronicles and biographies in Chinese ancient books. In addition, there is the precious "Jincang", which is one of the base copies of the Chinese part of the Chinese Tripitaka. There are Tibetan, Mongolian, Manchu, Uighur, Yi, Zhuang, Shui and other languages in the ancient books of ethnic languages. There are 3000 Tibetan classics, tens of thousands of them. Among these ancient Tibetan treasures are "red history", "sagaban Zhida Gongga jianzan Ben Shengshi Ji" and so on. The quintessence of other ethnic classics includes Mongolian Genghis Khan maxim, Yi southwest Yi Zhi, hydrologic Zhengqi, etc. On March 1, 2008, the collection of six ancient books, including seven volumes of the great convenient Buddha's benediction Sutra, three volumes of the Bodhisattva's travel Sutra, three biography Sutra (in Tibetan), the great Tibetan Sutra ganzhur (in Tibetan), the records of Southwest Yi (in Yi), and Fengjing (in Hydrology), was selected into the first batch of national precious ancient books list issued by the State Council. The rich and unique book collection system of China National Library not only wins the reputation of "palace of national classics", but also provides a solid material foundation for carrying forward the ancient culture of all Chinese nationalities and carrying out multi-level and high-quality reader service at home.
First of all, the library actively carries out a variety of services such as lending, reading, and postal lending, which can receive more than 10000 readers at home and abroad every year.
Secondly, there are dozens of modern equipment, such as micro camera, copier, microcomputer and so on. Since 1981, more than 300000 volumes of books have been copied and published in succession, such as the first edition of the collection of the senior officials of the state Dynasty, the general annals of the eight banners, danzhuer, miaofe lianhuajing, shengwendi Beiye manuscript, etc., serving 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, and some of them have also spread abroad. In addition, the library has published such books as chronicles of ethnic affairs of the people's Republic of China, general situation of Chinese ethnic minority libraries, catalogue of Tibetan Classics (1-3), yearbook of Chinese Nationalities (1995-2003), research on ethnic Library Science (1-5 episodes), and survey of Libraries in ethnic regions of China.
Talent development
For a long time, Chinese national libraries have been committed to promoting the development of Libraries in ethnic areas. Since 1983, it has held several seminars and refresher courses for Librarians in ethnic minority areas, and adopted various ways to cultivate talents for ethnic minority areas. By 2010, it has hosted 11 "national academic seminars on Libraries in ethnic minority areas", providing a very good academic exchange platform for Librarians in ethnic minority areas, and promoting the development of ethnic library science .
In 2001, the library built a local area network and began to build its own bibliographic database of Chinese new books, periodical database and bibliographic database of new books in minority languages. From purchasing and cataloging to external borrowing, the library has fully realized computerization and card free management. It has successively purchased and installed about 500000 volumes of electronic literature such as Wanfang e-journal library for nationalities, superstar e-book, Apabi e-yearbook and HowNet e-journal library for social sciences.
Since 2005, under the active guidance and strong support of the Party committee of the national culture palace, the Chinese national library has successfully completed all the basic work of the library, and actively applied to the relevant departments such as the National People's Commission, the Ministry of science and technology, the Ministry of Education (the national language and writing work committee), Beijing Municipality, and the National Planning Office of philosophy and Social Sciences around the theme of "library development" A breakthrough has been made in scientific research. As of December 2010, a total of 13 national and provincial level projects have been approved, including 2 national level projects and 11 provincial and ministerial level projects. On the other hand, the international exchanges have increased year by year. They have successively received government officials, library scholars, academic groups, ethnic and religious personages from Japan, the United States, Britain, India, Italy, Australia, Germany, Nepal, Thailand, Hungary, Iran, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Kyrgyz and other countries, as well as Tibetans living abroad and compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, and sent personnel to visit Hungary and Australia Leah, the former Soviet Union, India, Japan, Mongolia, Turkey and other countries have established friendly cultural exchange relations with many academic institutions and libraries abroad and in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao. The National Library of China is the executive director unit of the Chinese Library Association, the professional library branch of the Chinese Library Association, and the Social Science Information Association of China. In 2008, the State Commission for democracy and people's livelihood has determined that the continuation project of the national culture palace will focus on the construction of the new National Library of China. By then, the new museum will have more than 20000 square meters of wide space, first-class modern equipment and more mature professional team, and strive to build a national ethnic literature collection and Exhibition Center. Our national library will embark on a new development road. The Chinese national library will make greater contributions to the national work and the economic and cultural construction of ethnic areas.
