brief introduction
Yunlong bridge is majestic and beautiful, beautiful in shape, and majestic. It is like a Wolong lying dormant on the Qingyan river. There are often clouds around the ancient bridges, which decorate the bridge like a flying dragon, so it is called "Yunlong bridge". It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Fujian Province on September 2, 1996.
Bridge structure
The unique shape and humanistic design of Yunlong bridge are amazing. This ancient Fengyu bridge has six piers and seven holes in the east-west direction. The wading part of the pier is built with red stone. Above the red stone, there are seven layers of logs stacked vertically and horizontally to form a bridge bracket with narrow bottom and wide top. The bridge deck is paved with logs. This design embodies the wisdom of our ancestors. From the shape, it looks like arch, but not arch. From the material, it is stone, not stone. It can be seen that the ingenuity is unique. It is 81 meters long, 5 meters wide and 30 meters high. There is a bridge house built on the bridge to avoid wind and rain. The bridge house is a bucket type timber structure, with columns and beams as a whole, tenon and mortise matching. There are 4 rows of columns with the same diameter, 32 in each row, forming the pattern of corridors on both sides of the main road of the bridge deck, which makes people appreciate the beauty of horizontal and vertical tidiness. Row after row of Chinese fir columns constitute a very rhythmic and rhythmic March. In the west part of the bridge, there is a double-layer hexagonal quexing building with a sharp top. There are archways at both ends. It is a typical Jiangnan ancient building roof bridge, with lotus wood carvings on the top beam and Dragon Ridge cornice. At the bottom of the bridge, four large ship shaped piers are built with granite strips. The bridge deck is paved with pebbles of various colors and combined into various patterns such as Yuanbao and Tongqian. On the top of the bridge, there is a "Wenchang Pavilion", which looks like the shape of Yueyang Tower, like a giant riding a dragon. Mount the pavilion and look around. You can see all the green mountains and clear water in Luofang. Surrounded by mountains, there are many peaks, trees and haze. Listen to the murmur of water under the bridge, look up at the sky, a hundred birds flying, sitting in the pavilion, cool breeze, make people relaxed and happy. The rock walls at the head of the bridge are towering and beautiful, and the trees on the side of the bridge are shaded and luxuriant. Overlooking the deep pool, with rippling blue waves and sweeping brocade scales, it is a tourist attraction for viewing ancient bridges and natural landscapes.
The hundred year old camphor group at the west end of the bridge is even more high in tree height and deep in root. According to the local villagers, every year on the 15th of the first lunar month, the ancient event (the local Hakka carnival) goes into the water from here. The villagers carry the mascots in groups and shout to run in the water, competing to be the first to chase and advance against the current. The scene is very spectacular. The bridge house is covered with green tiles, and there are two layers of wooden ponchos on both sides of the bridge body to block the wind and rain. The poncho is actually an extension of the function of the roof of the bridge house, and it does not affect the lighting and ventilation of the bridge, that is, people sitting on the bridge corridor will not be wet by the heavy rain. In the middle of the bridge, there is also a bridge pavilion. The roof of the bridge pavilion is a veranda style, and its height is lower than that of "Wenchang Pavilion". The timber used in the whole Yunlong bridge is painted black to prevent corrosion. Yunlong bridge in the stone and soil structure of the ancient bridge, the length of the fine materials, the beauty of design, is rare.
Purpose of bridge construction
Yunlong bridge was built by Princess Zhefu, the 12th ancestor of Luo family in Luofang. The purpose of building the bridge is to facilitate people's communication on both sides of the river, and the second is to build the bridge at the local Shuikou. There is a saying among the people that the Shuikou is locked and the population is prosperous. This is probably due to the theory of geomantic omen.
