Brief introduction to temples
The natural environment around Longtan Temple is very peculiar. Its mountain is the continuation of hadaling, the branch of Changbai Mountain. There are seven peaks in the mountain, which are arched like a ring. There is only one pass in the East, which is the only place to enter the temple. And the seven peaks have their own names. From the east to the north of the mountain gate, they are Guiyue, Lingxiao, Fuyun, Diecui, Guanlan, Lianhua and Yiquan. Longtan Temple is located in it. In front of the temple, there are two pools of water, which are juxtaposed between the East and the west, and are not dry all the year round. One pool of lotus and one pool of water chestnut are transplanted, and their lives are not long. According to folklore, there are two dragons hiding in it, supporting their own water, so it is called Longtan.
Layout structure
At present, the Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall, Guanyin Pavilion, Jialan hall and other buildings in Longtan Temple have been restored and completed. They are magnificent and open to tourists. They have become famous Buddhist resorts in Northeast China. Hundreds of thousands of tourists come here every time there are rituals and temple fairs.
Folklore
Qiding Longtan Temple, with elegant environment and unique scenery, is a famous tourist Buddhist holy land in northern Liaoning. In the main hall of the temple, there are three Tathagata worshipped, Sakyamuni Buddha worshipped in the middle, pharmacist Buddha worshipped in the East, amituo Buddha worshipped in the west, Manjusri and Puxian Bodhisattva worshipped in the West, and five hundred Arhats worshipped, followed by the merciful Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.
In the 19th year of Qianlong's reign, Emperor Qianlong visited Longtan Temple. It was hot in the middle of summer. While drinking tea, he walked under a big tree beside the spring. He felt cool and relaxed. Looking up at the tree, he felt like a dragon descending from the earth. The dragon's head fell to Longtan to absorb water, and his tail rose to the sky to block the burning sun. Emperor Dayue called this tree "dragon tree".
After drinking the tea from Longtan, Emperor Qianlong felt the fragrance of the water overflowing and was intoxicated with immortality, so he named the well "Longquan".
It was built in the Qing Dynasty
The seven tripod Longtan Temple was built in the early years of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. It was named because seven lush mountains surrounded by a sacred spring. The seven peaks are arched like rings, and there is only one pass in the East, which is a place of joy for entering the temple. And the seven peaks have their own names. From the east to the north of the mountain gate, they are Guiyue peak, Lingxiao peak, Huanyun peak, Diecui peak, Guanlan peak, Lianhua peak and Yiquan peak.

It is said that two hundred and seventy-six years ago, master Yanzhi of Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province traveled here when he visited famous mountains and rivers. He saw that there were seven peaks connected to Yi mountain in Longtan, with green peaks, lush trees and deep grass. Surrounded by seven peaks, there was a river rolling from north to West in front of the mountain, just like a cloud belt floating down the world. There was a pool under the mountain, with clear water and a spring on the west side of the pool. Master Yanzhi drank After drinking it for a few days, he immediately felt tired after several months' journey. His spirit was surging and his internal force was expanding. So he was very happy and called the spring "holy water" and built a temple here, named "seven tripod Longtan Temple".
historical significance
In the third year of Guangxu's reign, Emperor Guangxu visited Longtan mountain in the East. At that time, it was hot in June. He drank the tea from Longquan well and felt fragrant. Suddenly, when he was happy, he wrote down "Weijing canglan" and added the well as "Holy Well". After being sealed by the two emperors, the Holy Well of Longquan was guarded by Qinglong and Bailong day and night. The water surface of the well rose three feet, and never dried up in the year of drought.
