Luding Longtan
In the north of Luding village, Wen'an County, Langfang City, Hebei Province, there is a pond with an area of 300 mu in wet years. Because of the great depth of the pit, it never dried up in the year of drought. Many legends have been handed down since the Tang Dynasty. There is a sea eye in the center of the pool, which is connected with the Dragon Palace in the East China Sea. The Dragon King visits here through the sea eye every year, so it is called "Longtan". It is said that the big sticky fish in the pond and the big yellow cattle drinking by the pond are stronger than each other. These legends can be heard in several counties around here, and the farther away they are, the more divine they are.
Because of this magical legend, he once moved Feng Guozhang, the president of the Northern Warlord. It is said that when Feng Guozhang returned to Hejian from Beijing, he personally went to Luding pond to inspect. He saw that the water was boundless and clear. The legendary "immortal island" was floating in the pool, surrounded by dense willows, and the lotus flowers were blooming in shallow water. The scenery was picturesque. He really wanted to buy it and take it for himself. At that time, the local local gentry went to Beijing specially to discuss this matter. Later, because Feng Guozhang soon fell to Taiwan, the matter failed.
The water depth of "Longtan" is deep, and the scenery of the island in the middle, together with the willows on the edge of the island, makes people feel relaxed and happy. There are also lotus flowers blooming in shallow water, which make people linger and forget to return.
