Shuren Hall
The outer gate is a eight character gate tower with a built-in cantilever fence, which symbolizes the authority and ostentation of the official family, and represents the once prominent position; without a back door, the guest's gate enters and leaves, which symbolizes the quality of the official builder. Shuren hall takes the meaning of "all kinds of work must be refined, and children should be taught", which has far-reaching implications.
It is located in Hongcun scenic area, Yi County, Anhui Province, a world cultural heritage site.
Shuren hall was built in 1862 A.D. after Wang Xingju, an official of the Qing Dynasty, resigned because he was dissatisfied with the corruption of the officialdom.
Covering an area of 266 square meters, it is a three room structure on the second floor, garden and pool, showing originality. The homestead is hexagonal, which means "six" and "Dashun". The main hall, with its back against the water channel and its seat facing south, is decorated with peonies and butterflies on the ceiling, hoping that future generations will have a happy home. In the east of the hall, a small fish pond will be built with limited open space to keep the water flowing. There are two small study rooms in the courtyard.
