Wuhua Qimuzhang Provincial Nature Reserve was approved as a provincial nature reserve by Guangdong Provincial People's Government in December 1998. Its geographical coordinates lie between 115 ° 18 ′ 49 ″~ 115 ° 23 ′ 37 ″ E and 23 ° 46 ′ 11 ″~ 23 ° 51 ′ 43 ″ n. It is located in the east of Guangdong Province, the west of Wuhua County and the north of Changbu Town, Wuhua County, bordering Zishi town of Longchuan County in the north, Huangcun town of Dongyuan County in the West and Zhongba town of Zijin County in the south At 1318.6 meters, it is the highest peak of Wuhua County, adjacent to Longchuan and Dongyuan counties. When you climb the peak, you can overlook Wuhua, Longchuan, Dongyuan, Zijin, Xingning, Meixian and Heping counties, so it is called Qimuzhang.
The planned area of the reserve is 5850 hectares, including 2370.42 hectares of core area, 1149.53 hectares of buffer area and 2330.05 hectares of experimental area; 5824.6 hectares of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 98%; the main protected objects of the reserve are subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest and rare animals and plants. According to the investigation, 1055 species of vascular plants belonging to 601 genera and 191 families have been found, including 72 species of pteridophytes belonging to 50 genera and 33 families, 9 species of gymnosperms belonging to 7 genera and 6 families, 974 species of angiosperms belonging to 544 genera and 152 families; national and provincial protected plants include Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Bole tree, Malus japonicus, golden dog, cycadium, Alsophila spinulosa, Acer truncatum, Anthurium palmatum, sightseeing tree, camellia, Amentotaxus, Cinnamomum camphora There are more than 20 kinds of plants, such as Lilium breviscapum, mucilaginous wood, Diaopi, Cinnamomum cassia, Toona sinensis, wild longan, Morinda officinalis, Cephalotaxus fortunei, etc. The main marker plant is Alsophila spinulosa community, which is quite rare in China. Geology and geomorphology
The nature reserve is located in the middle and low mountains and hills. Zhongshan is mainly distributed in the northwest, West, central and south, with an elevation of more than 800m and a specific height of 500-1000m. Climatic characteristics
It's warm and wet. The nature reserve is located in the northern edge of the Tropic of cancer, belonging to the low latitude subtropical monsoon warm climate, but has the characteristics of mountain climate, which is characterized by early warm spring, rainy spring and summer, high temperature in summer and autumn, and late cold winter.
According to the statistics of Wuhua meteorological station, the annual sunshine hours is 1996.6 hours, the annual sunshine percentage is 45%; the annual average temperature is 21.2 ℃, the average temperature in July of the hottest month is 28.5 ℃, the maximum temperature is 38.9 ℃ (September 2, 1963), the average temperature in January of the coldest month is 11.9, the extreme minimum temperature is - 4.5 ℃ (January 1955), and the total accumulated temperature of the whole year is 7752.3 ℃; the annual average frost free period is 325 days, and there is no frost in some years The annual rainfall is 1498 mm, the rainy season is from March to September every year, accounting for 86% of the total annual rainfall, and the average relative humidity is 76%.
The nature reserve is located in the west of Wuhua County, and its temperature index should be 2-3 ℃ lower than that of Wuhua County, while the rainfall should be more than 210mm higher, and the humidity should be increased by 15-20%.
Species resources
Qimuzhang nature reserve, the largest nature reserve in eastern Guangdong Province, is known as the "treasure house of species".
