The term "classic car" has always been the Chinese translation of "classic car", which first appeared in the British magazine "famous cars and classic cars" in 1973. As there is no standard explanation for the old cars, according to the Convention, the old cars have become the general name of the ancient and basically intact cars that are now treasured. As for the evaluation requirements of classic cars, that is to say, the cars with a production life of 30 years ago have excellent design and high process standards when they leave the factory, and now they basically keep the original appearance (including each part) and can be driven. "The situation of China's collection of classic cars is a disordered state of building cars behind closed doors." The person who said this was Huang Xiaojuan. This Wuhan girl followed her German husband Hong Li back to China and started a website called "car hunting tribe". They are very excited to build a bridge between Chinese classic car collectors and European classic car market. They see the plan as the first step in "developing a really old car" in China.
Development history
Huang Xiaojuan describes the current situation of China's classic car movement as "there is no starting point, what kind of cars do you buy or sell? If you want to buy an old car, you can report it to the police, but they will never approve it because there is "no way to rely on it.". Coupled with the small number of collectors and the small circle, it is difficult for China to form an old car business organization. "
History of building the Museum
In the eyes of many people, private collection of classic cars is absolutely a hobby of the nobility. Not only that, the classic car sport can also be regarded as an aristocratic sport in the world, which needs a solid material foundation as the premise, because the daily maintenance and maintenance of classic cars, the purpose and specifications of the classic car sport are luxurious aristocratic enjoyment.
Initial stage
In 2003, Luo Wenyou felt that Chengde was not as good as Beijing in developing his classic cars, so he came to Beijing alone. At first, he had to rely on some friends in Beijing to help him find relationships, lobby and promote his collection and campaign of classic cars. After hard work, he established the classic car branch of Beijing Society of automotive engineering in Beijing and served as the Secretary General. At the end of 2004, he successively transported the classic cars from Chengde home to Beijing and started his own business in Huairou, Beijing.
At the beginning of 2005, he had a bold idea to set up his own Museum of classic cars. On August 5, 2005, five experts from the museum Office of Beijing Municipal Bureau of cultural relics inspected some old Luowen cars in Dongfang Jiye International Automobile City, Chaoyang District. Experts believe that these cars can well introduce the history of automobile development and show the automobile culture to Volkswagen. Both quality and quantity are first-class in Beijing. From the perspective of collections, there is no problem in building the museum. After the establishment of the old car museum, it will make up for the blank in Beijing.
Development stage
However, after the field investigation, the experts said that Luowen's proposal for building the museum needs to be improved. Firstly, it is more accurate to change the applied "old car museum" to "Beijing old car museum"; secondly, the original planned free visit is changed to paid visit. The museum is private, and the sponsor is a natural person. Therefore, the fixed maintenance funds of the museum are not enough Further consideration is needed.
In fact, Luo Wenyou didn't think of making a profit. For him, it's his greatest wish to keep his collection of 86 classic cars on the land of China. Now Lao Luo will ask people, "how much do you think you are willing to spend to see the unique edition of the red flag car belonging to China, and how much do you think the museum ticket should be?" Lao Luo was worried that his old car would not be taken care of. Now he has decided to solve the loan problem for the construction of the museum even if he borrows money everywhere.
Luowen and his collection of long "red flag" Luowen. Some of his life is to rest in a small bungalow, which is both an office and a house. Then, with all kinds of approvals, he looks around for potential investors. Although it is estimated that the first phase of the planned 3000 square meter museum will cost at least tens of millions of yuan, Lao Luo said that he would not sell any of his collection classic cars. Although he is a bit at a loss about the future, he is still busy running around every day. His wife and children are at home in his hometown of Chengde, more than 200 kilometers away, but he hasn't been back for more than a year. Because he's going to build a museum of his old cars.
