Xiaotun Nandi jiagujiao cave
From March to August and October to December 1973, the Anyang team of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (now the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences) carried out two large-scale archaeological excavations in the south of Xiaotun village, the Yin Ruins site, covering an area of 430 square meters, and found 5335 oracle bone inscriptions. This is the most important discovery of Oracle Bone Inscriptions in Yin Ruins since the founding of the people's Republic of China.
H24 jiagujiao
H24 is one of the most important achievements in this excavation. A total of 1395 pieces of oracle bones were unearthed, which is the most relic unit in this excavation. All of H24 were cattle scapula, without a piece of tortoise shell. According to the comprehensive comparison of stratigraphic relationship and utensil typology, the excavators divided the relative age of H24 into the latter part of the third period of Yin Ruins culture.
Stratigraphic relationship
Most of the oracle bones found in the south of Xiaotun have reliable stratigraphic relationship and coexist with pottery, which provides the most accurate and reliable valuable information for the classification of oracle bones and Yin Ruins culture. Especially in this excavation, a lot of Oracle Inscriptions of the Li formation were found, and each piece had a clear excavation location and accurate stratigraphic relationship, which was not available in the previous excavation of oracle bones in Yin Ruins. Therefore, the excavators clearly put forward in the report: "the order of the oracle bones is consistent with that of the pottery of the Yin Dynasty."
H3 jiagujiao cave in the east of huayuanzhuang
The H3 oracle bone cave in the east of huayuanzhuang was discovered in 1991. It is located in the southeast of the palace temple site. A total of 1583 pieces of oracle bones were unearthed, including more than 500 inscriptions.
Yh127 jiagujiao
Yh127 oracle bone cave was discovered in 1936 (Y and H are the first letter of the Chinese phonetic alphabet of "Yin Ruins" and "huikeng" respectively, and the combination of the two letters represents "Yinxu huikeng", and the number 127 is the number of this huikeng) < / I, which is located in the west of the central part of the palace and temple area of Yin Ruins. More than 17000 oracle bone inscriptions were unearthed. The contents of these oracle bones are very rich, including sacrifice, hunting, agriculture, astronomy, military and so on, involving all aspects of social life in Shang Dynasty.
The value of yh127
The value of yh127: there are 17088 pieces of tortoise shells and 8 pieces of cattle bones in the pit, a total of 17096 pieces, plus other pits, a total of 17804 pieces. There are not only a large number of oracle bones in this pit, but also many characteristics, which are of great significance in the history of oracle bone studies: there are many oracle bones, few oracle bones, inscriptions of divination signs, calligraphy of Zhu Shu Mo Shu, painting of Zhu Tu Mo, reform of back armor, giant tortoise shell and so on, all of which enhance scholars' understanding of the oracle bones in Yin Ruins and the historical culture of Shang Dynasty. This is the largest number of Oracle Bones unearthed since all previous scientific excavations in the Yin Ruins. It is known as "China's earliest character archives", "Yin people's Treasury for keeping classics" and "China's earliest library".
It is generally believed that the discovery of yh127 is the highest achievement and achievement of the 15 scientific excavations in the early Yin Ruins.
