Huading Temple
Huading Temple (Huading Temple) is located at the top of Huafeng mountain in Tiantai Mountain scenic spot, Zhejiang Province, 25 kilometers away from Tiantai County, 1098 meters above sea level. It was built in 936, the first year of Tianfu in the later Jin Dynasty, by master Deshao, the second ancestor of Yanzong, the Zen patriarch. It was originally named "Huading Yuanjue Daochang". It was renamed Shanxing temple in 1066, and Huading temple after the Republic of China.
Huading Temple
Every sunny day, standing on the stone of Huading looking at the sea. Four look at "overlapping peaks, mountains have eight fold.". You can see Mingbo in the East, Qiantang in the north, Kuocang in the West and Yandang in the south. Eight peaks, like lotus blossoms, come to the eye. Xu Xiake once said in his travel to Tiantai Mountain: "to Taibai (Hall), you can climb to the top along the road, the weeds are all over the place, and the mountain is high and windy. Frost on the grass, high inch Xu; and four mountain reflection, Qihua Yushu, exquisite. Lingnan mountain flowers are in full bloom. The top does not spit out color, but covers the high and cold area. " There are often clouds rising on the top of Huading, and all kinds of things appear, or rolling in, or ethereal away, which is called "Huading Guiyun". Li Bai once wrote in his poem Tiantai Xiaowang that "the sky is like a neighbor of Siming, and Huading is higher than Baiyue. The clouds are falling, the rocs are turning, the waves are flying. There is a sutra worship platform on the top. It is said that it is the place where the founder of Tiantai Sect, the wise master, worships the Lengyan Sutra. It is famous, but it has been destroyed in the "Cultural Revolution".
Taibai Hall
The wise master is still here to subdue the demons and build the temple. There is a "Taibai reading room" near the Sutra worship platform. It is said that it is the place where poet Li Bai studies. Later generations imagine Taibai's whereabouts, set up a hall to commemorate his death. In 1984, the former site of Xingci pagoda was rebuilt, known as "Taibai hall". On both sides of Huading, there were 72 thatched canopies in the deep mountains, among which the pharmacist's and Miaofeng's temples were the largest, and Xiang was the resting place for monks and pilgrims. Many canopies no longer exist, but many have been renovated to maintain the ancient style.
The origin of "Huading Temple"
Huading temple is located under the top of Huading mountain. In the first year of Tianfu in the Late Jin Dynasty (936), it was founded by master Deshao. It was originally named Yuanjue Daochang, also known as Xingshan temple. Deshao, a native of Longquan, Zhejiang Province, with a common surname of Chen, became a monk when he was a child. After he was admonished, he studied Buddhism all over the world and was deeply inspired. Later, he got the esteem and seal of Zen master Wenyi, the founder of the fayan sect, and inherited the legal system of the fayan sect, becoming a great master of the generation. Soon after, master Deshao went to Tiantai Mountain to practice Buddhism and to live in Huading. At that time, Qian hongchu, Prince of Wu and Yue, was serving as an assassin in Taizhou. Because he admired master Weide of Deshao, he often came to get close to him, and received a lot of political inspiration and lessons. Deshao once entrusted Qian Hongfu with "succeeding the king, we should make Buddhism prosperous". Later, Qian hongchu really became king, and in order to believe in Buddhism, he gave Deshao the title of "National Teacher". Tiantai Buddhism and Tiantai Sect also revived.
In 1065, Xingshan temple was renamed Huading temple. In the fourth year of Hongwu (1371) of Ming Dynasty, Zen master Zongji presided over the expansion. During the Longqing period, master vacuum Zhenxing also raised money to rebuild. In 1928, master Xingci rebuilt most of the buildings. After the reform and opening up, the local government and believers actively planned to rebuild the whole temple. Now, the main buildings such as the mountain gate and the main hall have been built. In addition, there are stone lions at the mountain gate and the "master Xingci" temple Other buildings are still under construction.
Since the Tang Dynasty, the three Koryo countries and Japanese Buddhists have all come to worship Tiantai Mountain and ascend the peak of China, leaving many historical stories. As early as the late Chen and early Sui dynasties, Koryo Samana boruo came to Jiangnan to study, and later entered Tiantai Mountain. He knew the night walk in Huading, but could not get out of the mountain. Gao Lisheng's view of truth and righteousness spread Buddhism in Tiantai Mountain and made great contribution to the development of Tiantai Sect. Since Japan first came to Tiantai Mountain to study the concept of Tiantai religion, many monks came to Tiantai Mountain from generation to generation. It is particularly worth mentioning that Huading mountain area is a famous producing area of Rhododendron. There are large areas of Rhododendron on the high mountains, which are rare in China. Rongxi, the ancestor of linjizong in Japan, went to Tiantai many times. When he returned home, he also brought tea varieties from Tiantai Mountain, and advocated tea planting and qincha in Japan. As a result, Huading temple has become the birthplace of Japanese tea ceremony. The people of China and Japan have become tea lovers' Pilgrimage to the temple. In the past ten years, the exchange Memorial Hall and monument of tea Buddhism between China, South Korea and Japan in Tiantai Mountain have often held Dharma meetings. In 1997, Tiantai Sect of China, South Korea and Japan held an unprecedented ceremony to commemorate the 1400 year old death of the wise master of Tiantai Sect, which set a monument for the friendship among the people of China, South Korea and Japan. TIANTAIZONG of Japan also donated a large sum of money for the restoration of Huading temple.
There are two mountain springs in Huading temple. One is "wise spring", in front of the hall of wise master in the temple. Another is "Prajna spring", which is the water that wise masters drink when they practice. It is the holy spring of Tiantai Sect in the sea. This spring is hidden somewhere in the temple. It is generally secret. The two springs are trickling, clear and delicious all year round.
The former abbot of huadingshuo temple is master Yuntong. In 2003, master Yuntong went to Juela temple in Nangqian County, Yushu prefecture, Qinghai Province to practice the "calming fire method" of the tantric Kaju school. After successfully passing the customs, the satyaming Buddhist College in Aba, Sichuan, closed to practice the "great fullness". The current abbot of Huading temple is Xingxian master.
After the KMT was elected in 2008, Jiang Bingkun, vice chairman of the KMT, came to Tiantai jigongyuan on May 12 to make a vow. Master Xing Xian led the abbot of huadingshuo temple to attend the ceremony.
