Jiaoyang Wenchang Pavilion
In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Jiaoyang people in Shanghang advocated the construction of Wenchang Pavilion in the village center in order to pray for cultural prosperity. From 1741 to 1754, it took 13 years to complete. Later, there were Tianhou palace and Wugu Palace on the left and right sides of Wenchang Pavilion.
Wenchang Pavilion has six floors in appearance, but it has four. The first and third floors are respectively decorated with the statues of Confucius, Emperor Wenchang and wenkuixing, and the top floor is an umbrella shaped hanging column structure. It is said that since Jiaoyang built the Wenchang Pavilion, it was sure that the culture was prosperous and talented people came out in large numbers. Every year on the third day of March, all the literati and gentlemen gather here one after another to "drink wine and wish reverie" in order to save themselves.
After the revolution of 1911, Wenchang Pavilion was changed into a school Guangzhi primary school, where Deng Zihui and others once taught and carried out revolutionary activities.
In the middle of July 1929, Mao Zedong joined with he Zizhen and CAI Xiemin. Jiang Hua, Zeng Zhi and others went to Jiaoyang Wenchang Pavilion in Shanghang to guide the first Congress of the Communist Party of China in West Fujian, which passed the political resolution amended by Mao Zedong himself. After the conference, all parts of Western Fujian conscientiously implemented the land revolutionary spirit of "the first National Congress of Western Fujian", "armed struggle" and "taking out fat to make up for thin", showing a gratifying scene of "cleaning up the jin'ou area, dividing the land and fields, really busy".
