Shimen scenic spot, formerly known as Kundulun Reservoir Scenic Spot, is located in the valley of Yinshan Mountain range, ten kilometers northwest of Baotou City, the largest industrial city in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The Kundulun reservoir in Shimen scenic area was built in 1958 with a capacity of 78.5 million cubic meters.
