According to the records of Jiaxing City annals, Jiaxing is located in an important area, which is "connected with Bamin in the south, Sanwu in the north, and Jiangyou in the side". The coastal area is also an important frontier defense area. The post station was established earlier. In the Qin and Han Dynasties, it was connected with Kyoto in the north and Fujian and Guangdong in the south. Jiaxing county built an Yunyi in 649, the 23rd year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty. In Song Dynasty, it was Jiahe post, belonging to Ma post, with 90 post horses and 830 horse households. Later, it was shuiyi, with 80 boats and 760 boatman households. In the 17th year of the reign of emperor Shizu of the Yuan Dynasty (1280), Jiaxing Road shuiyi was set up. Its address is Xili square outside the west gate, close to santatang. At the beginning of Ming Dynasty, it was called xishuiyi, with Yicheng and hall. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, Yimen, hall, Xuanshi and Fufang were built, with a larger scale. In the Ming Dynasty, Cui Pu, the founder of North Korea, stopped here and wrote a poem: "today, we are passing Jiaxing mansion again. People are flourishing and bamboo is sprouting.". In the song of Yuanyang Lake written by Zhu YIZUN in the Qing Dynasty, there is also the sound of drum in front of Xishui post and wild chicken in Yuantian corner. It's in the peach blossom of Tai Xin Cai Jia. It's not in the city until dawn. " The poetry of the world. The west gate of Jiaxing was a water and land transportation hub in ancient times. Until the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was still reported that Jiaxing officials arranged shifts and fired guns to pick up officials.
The post station is an organization specially responsible for "delivering passengers, reporting military affairs and transferring military supplies". Xishui post is one of the water and land portals of Jiaxing, which is a place for military strategists to fight for. Therefore, the post was destroyed and rebuilt many times, and it was destroyed in the late Qing Dynasty. The "shuiyi stele rebuilt on Jiaxing Road" is erected from the late Yuan Dynasty to the fifth year of the Yuan Dynasty (1339). The stele is 2.2 meters high, 1.1 meters wide and 0.29 meters thick, with 21 lines and 37 characters in each line. The monument has never been recorded in the local records, so it has precious value. Therefore, in 1999, a new West Post pavilion was built in the construction of the green belt around the city of Jiaxing. The monument was erected in the pavilion for protection and appreciation by tourists.
The West Post Pavilion covers an area of about 10 square meters, with double eaves and square columns. It is simple and elegant, surrounded by cement benches, which can be used by tourists.
