Butterfly Island

Butterfly Island, located in the southwest corner of Nanbei lake, was artificially accumulated during dredging of Nanhu Lake in 1988. The area of the island is about 12 mu. Looking down from the top of eagle nest, she looks like a butterfly. It commemorates that Hu Die, the film queen of Shanghai in the 1930s, came to Nanbei lake to make a salt tide with the theme of living conditions of salt people in Haiyan.

The main building on the island is Shanhai Pavilion, octagonal, with three floors above the ground and one floor below the ground. The height of the pavilion is 18.8 meters. Around the pavilion, the diameter of the bottom floor is set to be beautiful, the railings on the second and third floors are set, and there are no walls around. When you climb on the pavilion, you can have a broad and pleasant view. To the north is Zhonghu pond, with two bridges and a dike on the water, and weeping willows; to the west is yingketing, with high mountains blocking the eyes, and an ancient nunnery red wall on it; to the East is the foot of Yangshan, with guest houses row upon row; to the south, beyond the dike is the waves of Qiantang River. Although the pavilion is small, it contains the scenery of lakes, mountains and seas. In the south of shanhaige, on the southeast edge of the island, are shuangfeiguan and Tingquan tea. On both sides of the south-west facing the lake, the outdoor corridor is also built, where visitors can watch the scenery by relying on the fence, just like standing in the water. Between Shuangfei Pavilion and Tingquan tea, there is a 10 meter long nine curve corridor. Behind the corridor, there is a small pool. The buildings on both sides are like graceful buildings standing in the middle of the water. It is a good place to drink tea.

Butterfly Island in Fangcheng, Guangxi

Butterfly Island is located near the fort of Qisha Town, Fangchenggang, Guangxi. It is a beach still in its original state. Its tides are different in different seasons.
