Jinyong Academy

Jinyong academy is located in the southeast of Yanguan Town, Haining City, Zhejiang Province. It was planned and constructed by Haining municipal government in early 2008. It was strongly supported by Jinyong in April of the same year. It started construction at the end of 2008 and was completed and opened to the outside world on September 22, 2010. The architectural layout of Jinyong academy is based on the Anlan academy founded by the most famous Confucian scholar Ruan Yuan in the Qing Dynasty. With a total investment of 12.2 million yuan, Jinyong academy will fully display Jin Yong's academic achievements, carefully collect his works and related research materials, design and build in accordance with the traditional classical garden style, and have the functions of lecturing, displaying and collecting books. It will become an important place for Jinyong literature research.

Introduction to the Academy

Jinyong academy covers an area of 4385 square meters. The main part has three functions: lecture, exhibition and book collection. The main space is composed of "lecture hall, water court and library". There were Anlan Academy in ancient times and Jinyong Academy in modern times. The construction of Jinyong academy strives to restore the free academic spirit of traditional academy, comprehensively display Jin Yong's academic achievements, and collect his works and related research materials.

The construction of Jinyong academy not only injects more rich cultural connotation into the development of Yanguan scenic area, but also provides a new platform for displaying and carrying forward the historical culture of Haining. Our city will make full use of this humanistic resource and cultural boutique to build Jinyong academy into a place for ancient city culture study, tourism culture inheritance, Jinyong academic exchange and cultural communication.

During the tide watching Festival, Jinyong academy does not sell single tickets, but checks in with the scenic spot joint ticket, ancient city package ticket, organizing committee guest card, reporter card and work card.

Murals in the corridor

The main entrance of Jinyong academy faces Chunxi Road, with a half moon shaped gate and four golden characters of "Jinyong academy".

On the passageway to the south of the entrance, there are ancient and simple bluestone slabs, which are the main passageway to the Academy. The passageway is dotted with some plant pots.

Entering the Academy, the wall on the left side of the corridor is carved with 15 stone paintings of Jin Yong's works, such as "flying snow shooting white deer in the sky, comic book god Knight leaning on Biyuan".

The fine and well-organized stone carvings reflect the main characters and plots in Jin Yong's works.

Shujiantang

Through the Taoli gate, you come to the main gate of Jinyong academy, which is a brick carving platform gate. Across the stone threshold and across the small stone bridge, is the center of the Academy lecture hall, named Shujian hall. The simple lecture hall is located on a pool of clear water. The drizzle gently falls into the pool, decorating the building with a strong cultural atmosphere. In the middle of the Shujian hall is a simple desk with the same style of wooden chairs on the left and right, which can be used for literary exchanges and cultural forums. There are two hanging screens on the east wall and the west wall respectively, and the background stone green characters are engraved on the rosewood. The contents are the classic words and sentences of the University, Tao Te Ching and other works.

The wooden wall in the middle of the Shujian hall is a 1.78-meter-long and 3.18-meter-wide Qian Jiangchao themed wooden hanging screen. The main body of the hanging screen is composed of two pieces of basswood, on which are carved pine trees and peach blossoms, and on the bottom is Qiantang River. Peach blossoms, seagulls, pine trees and reeds form a beautiful contrast. Zhan'ao tower stands on the Bank of the river. In the distance, the tide is coming, and the tide seems to rush out of the woodcarving.

The lecture hall is attached with a back porch, on which is hung a plaque "connecting the past and the future", and below is the whole eight foot mural "Qianlong and chenjialuo tide view" by Hong Kong illustrator Dong Peixin. This is a modern spirit with ancient life as its theme, rich in profound cultural connotation.

Library

The library is a place with two floors and three bays for the collection, inspection and display of books in the Academy. The gate is carved with some plots of the book and sword.

The floor is made of cultural fair faced bricks, which sets off the simplicity and stability of the exhibition hall. The black grille on the top is inlaid with movable track spotlights, which not only makes it easy to illuminate the exhibition board, but also renders the atmosphere of the exhibition hall.

On the ground floor is a display of Jin Yong's achievements - "the exhibition of Confucian Knight Jin Yong". In the middle of the exhibition hall, there is a glass display cabinet with Mr. Jin Yong's sword. Under the illumination of the lighting in the exhibition hall, even if the sword does not come out of its sheath, it also gives people a deep feeling of martial arts. The exhibition hall is surrounded by display boards, each of which is attached with a cabinet. There are not only text descriptions, but also Japanese and Korean versions of Jin Yong's works presented by friends. Shoushan stone seals such as "Jinyong academy", "Shujian hall" and "Taoli gate" are collected in the seal exhibition cabinet. On the second floor, rows of wooden bookcases contain Mr. Jin Yong's works.

Wangyun Pavilion

To the south of the main entrance of the academy is Cong guixuan, with long stone benches for tourists to rest. You can also buy a Book of Jin Yong's works in the Academy's bookstore, where you can read them quietly and have a special mood. Along the climbing tower in front of Cong guixuan, on the high rockery is a cloud Pavilion. Standing in the pavilion, you can have a panoramic view of rocks, small pools and green bamboos. Looking up at the sky, is the blue sky and white clouds, pride, mood suddenly brightened.

There are also East and West Water pavilions in Jinyong academy, which can be used for lectures and recreation. The ground floor of the reception building is the reception room. The combination of ceiling and marble light shows the atmosphere of the whole space. Stable, elegant floor tiles with elegant chairs, coupled with the use of the main background stone, create a warm reception atmosphere. The second floor needs to go up through the rockery, so it is called shanlou, which is the meeting room. The exhibition hall, audio-visual room and other buildings of Haining ancient academies enrich the functions of the academies.

The beautiful rockeries, green plantains and simple corridor chandeliers are the exquisite ornaments of the Academy. People who love poetry can also walk around the academy and read the magnificent couplets or fresh and graceful couplets on the pillars - "when you sit up, you can walk on Huashan Mountain with sword Qi; when you accumulate, you can make the sea sound strong; when you are young, you can enjoy the spring breeze and the sea atmosphere; when you are brave, you can share the poetic heart; when the wind is light, the flowers are fragrant; when the water is shallow, the moon is clear.".
