Xinmen Street

Xinmen street is located in Licheng District of Quanzhou City, adjacent to Tumen street. When baodazhong "king of Jinjiang" of the Southern Tang Dynasty stayed in Luocheng, Linzhang gate was built, which was commonly known as "Xinmen" by the common people. When he traveled eastward from Xinmen to Zhongshan Road, he was named "Xinmen Street". It is the second main east-west street in the downtown area to the south of east-west street.

Fangcaoyuan

There is a park called fangcaoyuan in the west section of Xinmen street. Fangcaoyuan was built in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty and has a history of more than 300 years. It is one of the Spring Gardens (also known as "fangcaoyuan") created by general Shi Lang, Marquis of Jinghai, in Quanzhou in spring, summer, autumn and winter. "Fangcao" is based on the idea of four seasons' poem "spring outing to Fangcao", which was later abandoned.

Park Planning

The total planning area of the park is 90 mu, mainly plant landscaping. In the park, there are Chongzheng academy, "Sanzhou Fangcao" memorial archway, Hanbi Pavilion and other scenic spots. Walking in the park, the trees are lush, banyan, longan, Magnolia, palm and many other trees are graceful and crisscross, leaving you a wide space for sightseeing, play and rest.
