National Chung Cheng University (CCU) is a comprehensive research university located in Taiwan Province of China. The origin of the school can be traced back to the National Chiang Kai Shek University (the predecessor of Jiangxi Normal University) in Xingling, Taihe County, the rear area of Jiangxi Province during the Anti Japanese war in the period of the Republic of China. After Japan announced its unconditional surrender, the school moved to Wangchenggang, Nanchang.

The name of the university is based on the important concept of Chinese traditional culture, which is "Great Central integrity". It was originally founded in the name of our national leader. In 1989, the University was officially established in Chiayi, Taiwan in memory of Jiang Zhongzheng

Historical evolution

National Chiang Kai Shek university is a comprehensive university founded in Xingling, Taihe County, Jiangxi Province during the period of the Republic of China. The school originated from the Bailudong Academy in Lushan.

The name of the school is an important concept in Chinese traditional culture, which is "the most important in the world".

In 1940, National Chung Cheng University was established in Xingling, Taihe, Jiangxi Province. The first president was Dr. Hu Xianqi, a famous plant taxonomist in China. Zhongzheng university has five colleges, including arts, law, science, engineering and agriculture, and 18 departments.

On August 15, 1945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, and National Chung Cheng University moved to Wangchenggang, Nanchang.

In September 1949, National Chung Cheng University changed its name to national Nanchang University. It has 16 departments, including the school of political science, the school of literature and art, the school of science, the school of engineering and the school of agriculture. The university is still a national comprehensive university, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of education of Central South China.

In 1953, the national colleges and universities were adjusted to Jiangxi Normal University (renamed Jiangxi Normal University in 1983).

In 1981, the Taiwan Alumni Association of National Chung Cheng University joined the Association for promoting the establishment of Taiwan Chung Cheng University in Chiayi.

In 1986, in memory of Chiang Kai Shek and taking into account the balance of higher education in Taiwan Province, it was approved by the meeting of Taiwan administrative departments in Taiwan region to resume the National Chung Cheng University in Chiayi area of Yunlin.

In February 1987, a preparatory committee was set up, with Lee Teng Hui, the then vice leader of Taiwan, as the convener. Minxiong township of Jiayi county was selected as the site of the school, and the surrounding areas were reserved for the planning of the university town. Lin Qingjiang was employed as the director of the preparatory office to carry out the preparatory work. In December, the preparatory office was set up.

On July 1, 1989, Taiwan Chung Cheng University was officially established as one of the four Chinese universities in Taiwan Province (Taiwan Central University, Taiwan Chung Cheng University, Taiwan Sun Yat sen University, Taiwan Chung Hsing University). The first president is Lin Qingjiang. At the beginning of its establishment, the school was still in the process of construction, so the Minxiong new campus of Jiayi Normal University was used as a temporary campus, and the first school sports meeting was also held on the borrowed campus.

On August 1, 1989, Minxiong campus of Jiayi Normal University was used as the initial campus.

On October 18, 1989, the first school affairs meeting was held, and the school emblem, school anthem and the constitution of the teacher evaluation committee were passed.

On October 18, 1989, the first school affairs meeting of the school decided to adopt the works of Professor Su Maosheng of Taiwan Normal University. The pattern design consists of two parts, the center of which is the figure with the word "Zhongzheng", and the five pen tips around it represent the five colleges of Arts, science, social engineering and management at the time of the establishment of the University.
