Scenery in the park
Wuquan mountain was turned into a park in 1955. The original pavilions and pavilions have been renovated. After greening and construction, the park has become an important tourist attraction in Lanzhou.
Wuquan mountain is located at the northern foot of Gaolan mountain in the south of Lanzhou city. It is a tourist attraction with a history of more than 2000 years. Wuquan mountain is more than 1600 meters above sea level and covers an area of 260000 square meters. It is named after the five springs of Hui, Ganlu, Juyue, Mozi and mengyan. There is a legend of whiplash spring in history. On both sides of Wuquan mountain, water flows out from the cracks to form waterfalls, commonly known as the East and west "Longkou". Wuquan mountain peak high for the ancient buildings, temple buildings in accordance with the mountain situation, gallery connected, scattered. The best way to visit Wuquan mountain is by the west road. Wuquan mountain is a famous scenic spot in Lanzhou city. Temples were built here in Tang and Song Dynasties, and were destroyed by war. We can see more than 10000 square meters of buildings, including Chongqing temple, Mani temple, Wofo hall, dizang temple, etc., which were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Most of the ancient buildings are concentrated in Zhongfeng. Entering the Mountain Gate straight up the middle passage, the halls are stacked and the pavilions are scattered, which is very spectacular. On both sides of the peak is the East-West Longkou. In the valley, there are clear springs, green trees and pavilions. Donglongkou uses mountain spring water to build a new lotus pond with rippling blue waves and a zigzag bridge on the pond. Beside the pond stands the glazed wall of Erlong Xizhu. 240 level, 97 profit corridor circled up, connecting donglongkou and Zhongfeng. Taking advantage of the mountain, xilongkou has built a "small Penglai" with high pavilions and green springs, and a "green mountain new garden" with green water, pavilions and green trees. The zoo on the west side of xilongkou has deer garden, bear pond, lion and tiger house, monkey mountain, bird garden, panda hall, etc. Wuquan mountain's "Tongjie yinfo" and "Taihe Iron bell" are the park's "Zhenshan treasure" and are now national protected cultural relics.
Wuquan mountain is named for its clear and sweet spring water with sweet dew, moon, touch, benefit and blindfold. It is said that in the third year of Yuanshou (20 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, Huo Qubing was stationed in the West. The soldiers were tired and thirsty. Huo Qubing held a horse whip and struck five times in succession. The whip rang and the spring began to flow. Although this is a myth, the wonder of Wuquan mountain's "Wuquan" has attracted worldwide attention. Wuquan mountain peak height for the ancient buildings. From the mountain gate along the middle passage straight up, there are butterfly Pavilion, diamond hall, Mahatma hall, Wanyuan Pavilion, Wenchang palace, dizang temple, thousand Buddha Pavilion and other ancient temples, which are arranged according to the situation of the mountain, layer upon layer, connected by stone steps pavilions and corridors. The two wings of Zhongfeng are the East and West Longkou, and the five springs are arranged in an arc along the line of donglongkou wenchanggong xilongkou, hanging on the mountainside. The springs are connected by stone step trestles and pavilions.
Wuquan mountain can be divided into three routes: West, middle and East. There are pavilions, long stack Hongqiao and Qingquan waterfall on the three routes, but the layout is different, forming its own system and each has its own unique features.
If you go on the West Road, the first scenic spot is "cuiyou new garden". There are plum blossom cave, several Wangqing pools, a few Zhang cloisters, a Lingbo Pavilion, an octagonal pavilion and an underground amusement park in the garden. The reflection of the red pillars on the eaves of the pool is beautiful and charming with the green and secluded mountains. Along the west corridor, there is a small pavilion which looks like a new moon. It is called "half moon Pavilion". Through the half moon Pavilion, you can get to Qiqiao. Huiquan, one of the five springs, is close to Qiqiao. The spring is round, surrounded by green trees and grass. The water is clear and sweet. It is suitable for tea cooking and irrigation. It is very affordable, so it is called Huiquan.
Leaving Huiquan, you can walk up the bluestone steps to the famous mani temple. The pagoda tree is rich here, and the temple is quiet. A row of hanging buildings press on the gate of the temple. In the East is guanxia tower, and in the west is Yanyue tower. In front of the building, there are yiyijing, Zeze gate, many temples, diedieyuan and ququ Pavilion, which are small and exquisite. After going out of Mani temple and going up to a higher place, you can see a trickle of waterfall on one side of the wall, which is in the Wangqing pool under the wall. This is xilongkou. It's very close to Ganlu spring. "Ganlu spring" is the highest one of the five springs. It is located in the west of Wenchang palace, covered by an isolated Pavilion. It has a slender source, long rain and drought. It is like Ganlu. It is said that this spring is named after the meaning of "the world is peaceful, and the heaven will bring down dew".
Out of Ganlu spring came Wenchang palace. On the east side of the palace, there is a wall of flowers. On the lintel of the vase shaped door, there are three pale clerical characters -- chuyuequan. This spring is quite different from other springs. It is more like a well when it is said to be a spring. The spring water is gathered in a deep hole like a well, about 1.6 meters deep from the ground. Every moonlit night, the shadow of the moon falls directly into the heart of the spring, such as in the dish of the moon. This is also the meeting place of the three uphill paths of West, middle and East.
Step out of the thousand Buddha Pavilion and walk slowly down the East corridor to the Ziwu platform and the Bagua platform. It is near donglongkou on the top and Mengquan on the bottom. If you look up at the waterfall falling down from donglongkou, you can enjoy the "Mengquan" which is the top of the five springs. "Meng" is the name of the hexagram, which is one of the sixty-four hexagrams. The upper ridge is Gen Xia, the lower ridge is water, and Gen is mountain. The word "Meng" is used to summarize the appearance of Donggu, which means that there is danger at the bottom of the mountain. Li Wen, a man of the Ming Dynasty, once wrote a poem praising Mengquan: "the master invited me to cook new tea, and the water was the fifth spring in the mountain."
Looking from the East corridor to the west, there is a four corner Bell Pavilion standing on the hillside under the high and steep blue cloud ladder. In the pavilion, a Taihe bell with a height of about 3 meters, a width of 2 meters and a weight of 10000 Jin is hung. It was made in the second year of the reign of jintaihe (1202 A.D.) under the supervision of the pickaxe to be appraised. The bell is majestic in shape and sonorous in sound. The inscriptions are clear and recognizable. Originally hung in Puzhao Temple (former site of Lanyuan), the bell and Drum Tower is one of the earliest gold and stone relics in Lanzhou. Wuquan mountain was moved after liberation, and now it is a key cultural relic under provincial protection.
