Qianshan Buddha
"Thousands of valleys, pines and waves, thousands of peaks, green shadows and lotus trees.". Qianshan Mountain is composed of nearly a thousand lotus like peaks with beautiful natural scenery. Although he is not as majestic as the five mountains, he has the grandeur of thousands of peaks. With his unique group heroism, he is like an endless natural picture, which is displayed on the land of Liaodong. Yao Yuanzhi, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, wrote the poem "to count flowers to the sky, to count 999 Hibiscus".
brief introduction
In the center of Beigou of Qianshan Scenic Spot in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, lies a giant Maitreya Buddha. The appearance of this Great Buddha has attracted thousands of Buddhists, believers and residents at home and abroad. On the first and the fifteenth day of the lunar new year, there are a large number of pilgrims and cigarettes. It can be said that it is a grand event in the Lotus Mountain.
Buddha form
The Giant Buddha is located in the southeast of the top of five Buddhas, the second peak of Qianshan Mountain. It is 300 meters southeast of the famous temple Nanquan nunnery, with an altitude of 520 meters. The whole Giant Buddha is a towering peak. The Buddha is 70 meters high, 46 meters wide in shoulder, 9.9 meters high in head, 11.8 meters wide in head and 4.8 meters long in ear. The round and bright big head is as high as a three story building. Under the thick eyebrow covered with green moss, there is a pair of bright eyes. Its five features are placed in the right position and the right proportion. The Buddha's left hand is placed on his knee, his right hand clenches his fist, and his arm is pressed on his right leg. Above his right arm, there is a statue of the birthday star of Antarctica, leaning to the right. In front of its chest, a twisted bead is formed naturally. Its length ratio and position are very magical. The round bead ring can be seen facing the sun. On the back of the right hand of the Buddha, there is a big ring with a diameter of about 3 meters, which is carved artificially. The concave and convex part of the ring is facing the sun. From a distance, it naturally forms a halo with strong contrast between light and dark. Some people say that this aura is a "Eight Diagrams", while others say it is a "Falun". There are different opinions. In the center of the Buddha's abdomen, there is an elliptical cavity 2 meters high and 1.2 meters wide. On the edge of it, there is a small pine tree. From a distance, it looks like a tuft of long hair covering the "navel" of the Buddha. There are two broad feet at the bottom of the Buddha. In the excavation and textual research of this Great Buddha, many traces of worship in history have been found. On the cliff 200 meters away from the Buddha and about 70 meters high, there is an ancient Buddhist platform 1 meters wide and 6 meters long carved by man. Its granite platform has been weathered. According to the appraisal of geological experts, it will take at least thousands of years for the granite to be weathered to such a degree. At 30 meters below the ancient Buddhist platform, people also found porcelain plates and nearly foot thick ashes used by people to burn incense and worship. According to archeologists, the unearthed discs are porcelain products from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It can be seen that the Great Buddha had been recognized and worshipped by eminent monks as early as the Ming and Qing dynasties or before the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Qianshan has been a Buddha for nearly a thousand years. Why has it been discovered so far? Since there were people worshiping the Buddha in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, why is there no written record in Qianshan's literature? Some people explain this: religion itself is conservative. Moreover, even if individual eminent monks and Taoists found the Buddha, they also regarded the Buddha as a gift from heaven. In addition, there were tigers and leopards in ancient times, and no one dared to worship near the Buddha, so there was no record, and people forgot about the Buddha. Whether this explanation is correct or not, it is still a mystery to people why Qianshan monks did not make the story of the Great Buddha public.
Maitreya Xiangyun
Maitreya is a transliteration of Sanskrit in India, which is the name of Buddhist Bodhisattva.
According to Buddhist legend, Sakyamuni once said that Maitreya will inherit the Buddha position of Sakyamuni and become a Bodhisattva in the future. According to the Sutra of Maitreya shangsheng and the Sutra of Maitreya Xiasheng, Maitreya was originally born in a Brahman (monk class) family in India, grew up in the conversion to Sakyamuni, and died before Sakyamuni.
The discovery of Maitreya Buddha in Qianshan accelerated the development of xiuliantai scenic area. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, Qianshan administrative bureau built railings and stone steps, and added worship platform. For a time, the continuous cigarette, click wooden fish, sound Buddha music, Buddha is no longer lonely.
June 5, 1993 is the day when Qianshan Buddha was officially registered. As soon as the news spread, groups of faithful men and women flocked to xiuliantai scenic spot to worship the Buddha. It was originally a sunny day, but when the pilgrimage climax, there was a strange phenomenon. Yellow snowflakes floated in the clear sky. Some people say that this is not a snowflake, this is the yellow sand blown by the south wind, and the yellow sand paving is an auspicious sign of Buddha's coming. Just then, someone found a rainbow in the sky. After the rainbow, the white clouds in the sky appear the image of Maitreya Buddha. The Maitreya Buddha in the air and on the ground reflect each other, which is almost deified and humanized. At this time, someone called "Maitreya Buddha arrived", and all the believers worshipped on the ground. The cry echoed in the mountains for a long time When the news spread, there was a wave of giant Buddhas in Anshan.
If there is a Buddha, it will shine. What is Kaiguang? In fact, Kaiguang in Buddhism is like the "ribbon cutting" ceremony of layman. On the day of "Kaiguang" in Buddhism, the eminent monks with high virtue and high prestige presided over the celebration. The eminent monks held a mirror and reflected the Buddha's eyes with the refraction of sunlight, which meant that the Great Buddha came to the world, blessed the world and all living beings. Originally, this religious activity was very mysterious. Unexpectedly, a more mysterious landscape appeared on the day of the opening of Ganshan Buddha.
With the approval of the higher authorities, Qianshan Buddha was allowed to open. August 9, 1993 (June 22 of the lunar calendar) is the first day for the opening of Qianshan Buddha. Thousands of people climbed to the embroidery platform early in the morning. People from far away flocked to the top of the embroidery platform as early as the night before. They all wanted to see the Buddha reappear. At 9:50 a.m., the eminent monk presided over and announced the opening ceremony of the Great Buddha. In an instant, firecrackers were blaring everywhere and Buddhist music was playing high. An old man lit a large candle which was more than one person high, and the whole ashram was boiling. All of a sudden, there was a cry in the mountains: "here comes Maitreya Buddha..." It turned out that there was a rainbow hanging upside down in the clear sky above the Buddha. The rainbow was wider and longer than the one that appeared on the day when the Buddha registered. It lasted more than 30 minutes in the clear sky. Then the white clouds of Maitreya, Guanyin and Puxian appeared on the blue sky. At this time, the people gathered at the top of the mountain waiting for the Buddha to "manifest" all of a sudden, they all knelt down on the ground and kowtowed to the Buddha. Some believers' heads were bleeding. When the abbot led his disciples to the stage to worship, a mountain pigeon with a branch in its mouth fell on the railing of the platform and stopped for five minutes. All of a sudden, more and more people in the audience were shouting and worshiping devoutly The appearance of Maitreya's divine light increased the spirit of the Great Buddha. So, how to explain the abnormal phenomenon in the sky during the opening ceremony of the Great Buddha? According to Buddhist people, the abnormal phenomenon in the sky during the opening ceremony of the Great Buddha is not the only one in Qianshan. When the bronze statue of Guanyin in Wutai Mountain opened, there were similar "auspicious clouds" on the cloudless clear sky. Maybe this is what the believers say. It's the light of Maitreya Buddha.
Buddha effect
The unique landscape during the opening ceremony of Qianshan Giant Buddha undoubtedly added a layer of mystery to the Giant Buddha, resulting in an endless stream of tourists in the area. Nanquan nunnery, which used to be a sparsely populated place, is now full of traffic. Even in late autumn, the mountains in the Ganshan scenic area are bleak, but on the Buddha platform opposite to the Giant Buddha in Ganshan, there are still fragrant wind and green smoke According to Buddhists and Buddhist masters, Qianshan is Maitreya's ashram. At this point, Qianshan is unprecedented and shocked by all walks of life at home and abroad. Philosophical and Buddhist circles argue that the discovery of Qianshan Great Buddha has a great impact on the northern and even Chinese Buddhist circles, which indicates that Ganshan will become the fifth largest Buddhist resort in China. Since the appearance of Qianshan Giant Buddha, people from all walks of life have paid close attention to it. Master Yi, the abbot of Yongquan temple in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, after hearing the news of the birth of Maitreya Buddha in Qianshan, went thousands of miles to visit and worship Maitreya Buddha in Qianshan. After paying homage, he said deeply that "Ganshan Buddha is more valuable than Leshan Buddha. Because it is a natural Giant Buddha, a treasure given to mankind by nature, and a real Buddha. " Zhao Puchu, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and President of the Buddhist Association, wrote six Golden characters of "Maitreya Buddha of Ganshan" after learning about the Great Buddha of Qianshan. Master Bai Guang, Dean of the National Buddhist Association, and Lin Sheng, former vice chairman of the CPPCC Liaoning Provincial Committee, also wrote for Qianshan Buddha.
The news of Qianshan Buddha's birth soon spread overseas. More than a dozen newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong, such as Hong Kong Express, business daily, Ming Pao and Tiantian Bao, have published news about Qianshan Buddha. Newspapers and TV stations in the United States, Canada, Singapore and Thailand have also published news one after another. Mr. Wang Jiongru, director of the private library of the library of Taichung, Taiwan, was informed of the news of the discovery of the Great Buddha in Qianshan, and published an article in the magazine "the magazine of the light". In his article, he said that the dry mountain Buddha is a spirit coming from the ancient times. It has experienced the vicissitudes of the world, accumulated the essence of the world, inspired the modern people with her infinite wisdom, and used her profound thoughts. To warn the development of personnel. Although she is silent, she seems to be a mysterious time and space passing by. She is always solemn, solemn and full of magic power.
