Yongdinghe Forest Park
Yongdinghe Forest Park is located at the junction of Yongding town, Mentougou District, Shijingshan District and Fengtai District, close to national highway 108. After decades of sand excavation, the 42 meter deep sand pit was once the largest source of dust pollution in western Beijing. In order to eliminate this pollution source and implement the functional orientation of "ecological development and conservation area", the municipal and district governments have increased investment and implemented ecological restoration projects here.
Yongdinghe Forest Park is the first park initiated by Beijing Municipal Party committee and Beijing Municipal Government on the "five parks and one belt" project of Yongdinghe green ecological development belt, which was opened to the public free of charge on April 28, 2013. The park transformed the Shougang steel slag railway line into a sightseeing line, introducing sightseeing trains and railway bicycles, creating a precedent for Beijing to take the train to visit the park. Citizens can take the train to enjoy the flowers, the lake, the garden and Expo across the river, and experience the Yongding River culture.
About the park
By 2010, the total investment has reached 110 million yuan and the green area has reached 1.75 million square meters. More than 40 varieties of trees, shrubs, flowers and trees have been planted, with a total of 1.63 million plants, 980000 square meters of ground cover plants and 15000 square meters of aquatic plants
.
Through the construction of landscape ecological forest in a large area, the overall appearance of the big sand pit has been completely changed, and it has become an ecological park with many functions, such as sightseeing, rest and fitness, rain collection, windbreak and sand fixation. Since the completion of the park, leaders of the party and state, generals and ministers of the Republic have all participated in the nationwide voluntary tree planting activities.
Yongding River leisure Forest Park is located in the southwest of Shijingshan, on the NANDA wasteland on the left bank of Yongding River, 18 kilometers away from the city center. The park is adjacent to the Fifth Ring Road in the East and Lianshi West Road in the north, opposite to yuanboyuan across the river.
According to the "Beijing Yongding River Ecological Corridor Construction Plan" and "Yongding River green ecological development belt" project planning scheme proposed by Beijing Municipal Party committee and Beijing Municipal Government in 2009, the park started construction in 2012 and was completed in April 2013. It is the first open park in the "five Park belt".
Covering an area of 121 hectares, the park has built a landscape pattern of "two cores" (the main gate area and Yongding River Cultural Square), "one belt" (Riverside scenic belt), "ten scenic spots" (zhenshuiniu, shibadeng, Haitang Valley, Taoli garden, etc.) according to local conditions, which turns the barren land covered with yellow sand into a park with fresh air and fragrant flowers.
The park embellishes the connotation of Yongding River culture in the form of sculpture, stone tablet, landscape wall and pavement, and integrates the cultural flavor into the harmonious and natural rest environment.
The steel slag railway line of Shougang is transformed into a sightseeing Lane in the park. Small sightseeing trains and railway bicycles are introduced for citizens to enjoy the flowers, the lake, the garden and the Expo, and experience the Yongding River culture.
Yongdinghe leisure Forest Park is a public welfare city park, which is open to the public free of charge. With its beautiful environment, it creates a pleasant and natural fitness and leisure activity place for the general public

Main landscape
Town Buffalo
The Yongding River often suffers from floods, which threaten the safety of Beijing. It is said that there was a big iron ox waiting on the 18th Deng of "Tongbang Tiedi" in Pang village on the riverside, to the west of beihuiji temple. It is not only the moral of Zhenhe, but also the "alarm" when flood comes. When the flood surges, the current rushes into the mouth of the iron ox, which can make a "buzzing" roar. As soon as people hear the "cow's roar", they begin to prepare for flood control. Until 1958, Tieniu had been crouching on the Bank of Yongding River, and then it was smashed into steel.
"River stall" and "river stall"
In the Ming Dynasty, Liu Jin, a eunuch, was deeply favored by the emperor. But he wanted to be on an equal footing with the emperor and decided to open the embankment of Yongding River in the middle of the night, flooding Beijing. When digging the river, two urchins appeared, pushing down the newly excavated sand to block the estuary. Liu Jin was furious and ordered to shoot the urchin, but was blocked by two stone tablets marked with "he Dang" and "Dang he". At dawn, Liu Jin's plan to flood Beijing was defeated, and she was killed. It turned out that these two urchins were sent by the Jade Emperor to stop digging the river.
No change, no change
Yongding River is known as "Wuding River" in history. The middle and lower reaches of the river are often inundated, and the people along the way are suffering from the flood. They all look forward to the government's management of the river, but the government doesn't care. After years of efforts, the Wuding River has been managed well. Since then, there have been no more floods, and people on both sides of the Strait have lived and worked in peace and contentment. Since then, Wuding River has been renamed Yongding River.
Old man planting trees
It is said that a long time ago, in the west of houzhuangzi village, there was an old man Wang who lived with his wife and sold wine for a living. On a rainy and windy night, the two elders warmly entertained the three drinkers. Unexpectedly, after drinking, the three turned into bastards, turtles and loaches. It turns out that they were originally river gods. Because of the chaos of social and political situation, they wanted to use the river to submerge the capital to warn the world. The river god warned old man Wang to plant willows all around his home to ensure safety. The kind-hearted elder didn't sleep all night. He cut willows and surrounded the families on both sides of the Yongding River. But in a hurry, he didn't have time to circle his yard. As a result, the elder was swept away by the flood. Since then, the people have formed the habit of planting willows along the river bank, one to commemorate the two old people, and the other to protect the dike.
Black dragon makes trouble in Yongding River
It is said that the Yongding River is overflowing, endangering the capital and the people on both sides of the river. The black dragon in the river was kind-hearted and saved the people from fire and flood. Every time he woke up, he appeared to dredge the river, so that the river could flow into the sea smoothly and avoid disaster. In order to prevent the black dragon from entering the sea, the people on both sides of the Strait benefit for a long time.
Sacrifice to river god
Yongding River is the only river in Chinese mythology that is sealed with "God". Throughout the history of China, Yongding River was granted by three dynasties and four emperors: in the 19th year of jindading (1179), wanyanyong of jinshizong granted Yongding River the title of "Marquis Anping"; in the 16th year of YuanShiZu (1279), Kublai Khan granted Yongding River the title of "Hongji Gong", and a few years later, he was granted the title of "Xianying Hongji Gong"; in the 37th year of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1698), Emperor Kangxi granted Yongding River the name of "river god"; In 1751, Emperor Qianlong granted Yongding River the title of "Anliu Guanghui Yongding River God".
Haitang Valley
The original 8-meter-deep sand and stone pit was designed according to local conditions. After combing the current terrain, a gentle valley bottom was formed, and Begonia was planted. Begonia is a kind of ornamental garden plant of Rosaceae, which originated in China. Since ancient times, it has enjoyed both refined and popular tastes. It is one of the traditional famous flowers in China, and is known as "national beauty". In this valley, more than 800 begonias of five varieties, including Xifu Begonia, chuisi Begonia, tiegeng Begonia, eight edged Begonia and North American Begonia, were planted. In addition, there are flowering plants such as Prunus persica and Prunus davidiana, which form a beautiful view of Haitang valley together with the wet plants at the bottom of the valley
Yongdinghe Cultural Square
Yongding River culture square is composed of Yongding stele, scroll flower rack, Beijing water system ground sculpture, water surface and water folding flower platform. It was originally a sand and stone pit. On the basis of balancing the terrain of the whole park, it is designed to pile soil here to form a high platform, which can not only overlook the Expo Garden, but also have a close view of the water surface. It can be said that the mountains and rivers complement each other and complement each other. Yongding monument is a two-story platform with a height of 3 meters and a height of 5.6 meters. The material of the monument is Qingbai stone. The inscription "Yongding" by Mi Nanyang, a famous calligrapher and painter, is carved on the front and Jianyuan on the back. The scroll flower rack under the stele is based on the Chinese classical books, and forms a landscape painting scroll of Beijing pattern with the water system ground sculpture between the scroll and the flower rack.
